From a pile of timber to a stunning garden building overlooking the lake.

Natural materials, clean detailing and a roof built to age beautifully over time.

Definitely hoping this is the first of many projects like this.

Great day all round at the Eastbourne Half Marathon earlier this month 👏

Proud to have sponsored the event and even better to get stuck in ourselves — three of us took it on and loved every minute (well… most of it).

Brilliant atmosphere from start to finish, loads of support out on the course, and great to see so many people getting involved.

We’re excited to continue backing local events like this throughout the year alongside 🏃‍♂️

Over the years I’ve come to realise one of my favourite parts of the job is sourcing the materials we use when carrying out restoration projects.

Being able to spend hours going through yards to find a batch that’s “just right”, so the finished roof sits quietly within the character of the town, village or hamlet it’s part of.

The current project in Lewes is exactly that — taking the time to find genuine Sussex, handmade Keymer tiles, so once complete the roof will continue to perform for modern living, whilst maintaining its arts and crafts character.

After a couple of weeks of dry weather we were finally able to start tiling today. Making the most of the sunshine we focused on the front of the house at The Avenue, relaying the existing Keymer handmade tiles.
This week felt like real progress as the restoration starts to take shape.

After what felt like a never-ending winter, we finally got a glimpse of what’s to come this week.

Scrolling back through old jobs, I came across this one from a summer gone by at my parents’ place.

A big change all round — we handled the roof and exterior weatherboarding to help the new build sit nicely into its surroundings.

❤️ EASTBOURNE HALF MARATHON ❤️

We’re very proud to be sponsoring the Eastbourne Half Marathon next month.

It’s one of the town’s biggest events of the year hosted by and a brilliant example of the local community coming together — runners, volunteers, supporters and businesses all playing their part.

As a local company, we believe in backing the events that make Eastbourne what it is.

Best of luck to everyone training — the team will be there on the day supporting you all the way to the finish. Michael and Hayden will also be taking on the new 13.1 mile course so make sure to give them a wave! 👋
