Long-format brick and subtle curves define this new extension to a listed building in Newhaven, Edinburgh.

Through reconfiguration of the old building and landscape, the project renews connection to the garden, introducing new living space, a utility room and study.

At Canon Mews, we worked with local artist .rahimian to create a series of bespoke works.

Drawing directly from the spaces and materials found on site, Arran’s works are immediately contextual. As part of his process, a 4m x 3m canvas was placed on site for 6 weeks, with each mark a reflection of the construction. An approach rooted in craft, context and material honesty; values we hold close within our own practice.

It has been a real joy to work with Arran and witness these pieces taking shape alongside the architecture.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the launch of our debut development - Canon Mews.

These homes embody our strong belief that “new-build” shouldn’t mean a compromise on quality or character.

Craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and enduring details were at the heart of our shared vision with — and it was incredibly rewarding to see that vision resonate so strongly with guests from across the design, construction and property sectors.
