Before & after on this mature Willow on Lanark Road today 🌳

Carried out a light maintenance prune including removal of deadwood, damaged limbs, and a light crown thin throughout the canopy to reduce excess weight while retaining the tree’s natural flowing shape.

All arisings removed and site left clean and tidy.

🌳 Emergency Tree Work – Blackhall, Edinburgh 🌳

After the recent storm, a veteran Poplar tree in Blackhall suffered a major limb failure. The large snapped branch was still attached to the Poplar and left resting on a neighbouring Beech tree and a fence – creating a dangerous situation.

The weight of the Poplar limb had even uprooted the Beech tree, which we safely removed as part of the operation.

Using our specialist rigging lines and pulleys, we carefully dismantled and removed the damaged Poplar limb, preventing further harm to property and ensuring the safe clearance of both trees.

🌲 Norway Spruce Removal – Reused for Conservation 🌲

This mature Norway spruce had to be removed as part of a new house development.
Too tall to fell safely in one go, so we carried out a careful sectional dismantle to protect the surrounding trees.

♻️ The timber hasn’t gone to waste – it’s been cut into 10ft lengths and donated to Edinburgh Zoo 🦓🐘 where it will be reused for habitats and enrichment projects.

Always good to see timber put to positive use, even when a removal is unavoidable 🌍

Emergency Tree Work – Storm Damage Response 🌳⚠️

We were called out after high winds caused a large oak tree to fail due to storm damage, bringing it down onto the roof of a building.

Given the position of the tree and the risk to the structure, we used a cherry picker to safely access and dismantle the tree in sections. This allowed us to remove it without causing further impact or damage to the property.

Thankfully, despite the size of the oak and the force of the fall, the building escaped without any damage.

A big thanks to Dominic from Spider Platform Hire for the access equipment, and to our climbers Mark and Adam for their safe and efficient work under challenging conditions.

🌿 Holly Hedge & Stumps Removed – Another Job Tidy and Complete! 🌿

This week in Edinburgh, we removed a long-established holly hedge and ground out the stumps, giving our customer a fresh, open space for their new garden plans.
