Hello everyone! As every year, the entire team visited the Campervan Exhibition in Glasgow. The most interesting conversion was the one with the bed that automatically raises itself using seat belts. While the idea itself isn't new, thanks to the modern electrical system, it has become a truly comfortable solution.
Best regards.

I have been building campers my whole professional life. Thanks to the Internet, buying a ready-made system with a diagram is now easier than ever. That is why I would like to write to you about my observations, which are not always shared in stores, and what you can do to save a lot of time and money on your trip.
1. DISCHARGED BATTERIES
A small mistake, an oversight caused by fatigue and from one day to the next, the batteries drop below the magic limit of 10.8V for lead acid batteries and 12.8V for lithium. Is there any way to prevent this? Well, install the Victron Battery Protector: this small device will fully protect you from losing your battery. This device, omitted in most diagrams (after all, it is about the profit of companies producing batteries), comes in several sizes, depending on the demand for amperage. I guarantee that its installation will pay off sooner or later.
ALL ABOUT HOOK-UP
For those who use eco power, a relic of the past, an unnecessary umbilical cord connecting us with the world we want to escape from, for others, the line that gives us safety, and this is what my story about SAFETY will be about.
Some serious electrical system failures in our campers are caused by incorrect assembly or service of 240V electrical systems. Here, the financial losses can be huge, not to mention the possibility of electric shock. Therefore, I ask you to protect yourself from such a possibility. What is the easiest way to achieve this? Everyone knows an electrician who repairs the electricity in our homes. Ask him to inspect, show your project, explain the diagram and ask him to check the quality of all connections. For people buying used campers, according to the law, you have the right to receive an NCC Electric Certificate, guaranteeing that the 230V connection was built correctly. If you don't have one, ask a professional to inspect your system. Please remember that in the case of 240V electricity, even the slightest mistake can be costly. The last request is for those who have not yet started the season to find time to check after the winter whether your system is working correctly. Prevention is always better than cure.
I wish you many successful trips.
See you on the
route

want to follow up on my previous post and thank everyone for their great response. It's amazing to see how we've built a wonderful community. Today, I'd like to address some concerns raised by others. Firstly, the tools I use are affordable ones from Lidl, and they work effectively for me. I don't see the need to invest in expensive branded tools, as I prefer to allocate my budget to more essential items. As for the suggestion to buy good tools, use them, and return them, I don't feel comfortable with that approach.
I hope that once you have finished constructing your electrical system, you will not need to use these tools again.

Moving on, I want to show in photos the common mistakes people make when using the crimping tool. Poorly insulated or terminated cables MUST lead to electrical short circuits, especially in a 230V system like ours. I hope this information is helpful, and I look forward to your comments. Thank you for being a great community!

Hello, I don't want to sell you anything, but if you are in the process of building or rebuilding your beloved camper, please take some time to read this message. Throughout my entire professional life, I have been building campervans. I am thrilled to see the advancement of self-built electrical systems in campervans. Thanks to the internet, buying a ready-made system with a diagram is now easier than ever.
I wanted to share with you the importance of using three inexpensive tools for planning your electrical system. These tools are the Ferrule Crimping Tool, Insulated Crimping Tool, and the Universal Stripping Tool. Proper usage of these tools can save you time and money and ensure a reliable electrical system for your camper. Quality equipment and efficient solar panels are essential, but having well-prepared and connected cables is equally important. Neglecting this aspect can lead to problems during your travels. I receive calls daily from people experiencing issues due to poorly prepared or connected cables. These tools will help you avoid such problems, ensuring a worry-free vacation. I hope this information is helpful to you. Safe travels!
