🇺🇦 Free Gas Safety Checks for hosts who are sponsoring displaced Ukraine evacuees 🇺🇦

In 2015, Gasworks Edinburgh fitted a new boiler at the Ukranian Consulate on Windsor Street in Edinburgh.

Whilst fitting the boiler I became good friends with the Ukranian diplomat and his family who lived and worked from the property. They left Edinburgh for Ukraine a few years ago and have remained in touch.

As I am sure most people are aware, the Russian invasion has displaced millions of Ukranians. Whilst my friend is still working hard in Kyiv for his country, his family have recently been evacuated to Edinburgh. It is a relief to hear his family are safe and well, but equally heart breaking to hear of the devastation and displacement caused as I have a young family myself. I can’t begin to imagine what they are going through.

The main reason for this post is it was brought to my attention earlier today, whilst one of our engineers attended a property in Edinburgh to conduct a gas safety certificate, the owner explained a gas safety certificate was a requirement for his application to sponsor/house Ukranian refugees.

Gasworks Edinburgh have therefore decided to provide a free Gas safety certificate to anyone in Edinburgh area with an active application to house Ukranian Refugees.
