Warm weather often means open windows — but don’t forget to close and lock them before you leave the room or the house! An open or unlocked window is an easy target for burglars.

Here are some quick tips to help you keep your home secure while staying cool:

🔒 Close windows when unattended
Even if you’re just popping upstairs or into another room, always close your windows. It only takes a few minutes for a burglar to spot an opportunity and steal valuables like laptops or handbags.

🔒 Install key-operated locks
All windows — both upstairs and downstairs — should ideally have at least one appropriate key-operated lock. These greatly reduce the risk of forced entry.
