👨‍👩‍👦 WHEN YOUR SUMMER HOLIDAYS TURN INTO WORK EXPERIENCE… 😂

Aiden’s been helping us out over the summer holidays, getting stuck in and seeing what really goes on behind the scenes of a family-run upholstery business. 🔧🚗

He’s learning that working with your parents means:
☑️ You don’t get to call in sick 😂
☑️ “Just give me a hand for 5 minutes” can turn into 3 hours
☑️ There’s always another job to do!
☑️ And apparently Dad is always right… 🤔😂

It’s been brilliant having him around and watching him get involved with the jobs we’re working on.

He might not be following us into the upholstery world, but he’s definitely picked up the car obsession — although he tells us he wants to become a car sprayer instead! 👨‍🎨🚗

Running a family business isn’t always easy, but moments like this are what make it so special. ❤️

School holidays mean it’s time to get stuck in! 😎🧵

Aiden has been enjoying helping out in the workshop and being part of a very special Lamborghini upholstery job! 🏎️🔥

He probably won’t be following us into upholstery 😂 but he already has his sights set on becoming a car paint technician. So, getting hands-on with cars and learning a few things along the way can only be a good thing!

We love seeing him enjoy being part of the family business ❤️

😂 “We get loads of these in…” — and Mark has definitely got opinions!

This Mercedes seat came in with one of those all-too-common rips, and according to Mark, it’s not a reflection of the owner… it’s the manufacturer’s material! 👀😂

Apparently Mercedes could’ve done a little better with this one! 🤷‍♂️

But enough complaining… let’s see what Shropshire Auto Stitch can do with it! 🧵🔥

Yesterday was one to remember! 🎉🎪✨

What an amazing parade for Ellesmere Carnival! The streets were full of colour, music, smiles and community spirit — it was fantastic to see everyone coming together and enjoying such a brilliant day. ❤️

A huge THANK YOU to the carnival committee and all the amazing volunteers who worked so hard behind the scenes to make it happen. 👏🏻 You did a truly fantastic job!

We’re so lucky to live in such a wonderful community like Ellesmere. 💙 What a place to call home! 🥰

🎪 CARNIVAL DAY IS HERE! 🎉

Fancy a bit of fun in town today? Why not head along to Ellesmere Carnival and enjoy a fantastic day out with family and friends! 🥳

🎊 The parade starts at 12pm and there’s loads going on throughout the day — live music, fairground rides, food stalls, games and plenty of entertainment!

🚨 PLEASE DON’T TRY THIS AT HOME! 🚨

We completely understand the temptation when your headlining starts to sag… but trying to reglue failed foam-backed headlining material can actually make the job MUCH harder! 😬

Once the foam backing breaks down, it crumbles into tiny pieces. Add more glue into the mix and you’re left with a horrible, sticky mess that has to be painstakingly removed before we can do the job properly. 🤦‍♂️

It can turn what should be a straightforward retrim into hours of extra preparation!

👉 If your headlining has failed, leave it to the professionals. We’ll remove the old material properly, prepare the board and fit fresh, quality foam-backed material for a long-lasting finish. 👌

Headlinings are always best reupholstered rather than reglueing them!

🚗💥 REPAIR IT… OR REUPHOLSTER IT? 👀

This Chrysler Crossfire has definitely seen better days! 😳 That once-smart headlining is now worn, saggy and starting to let the interior down.

So, what would you do? 🤔
🔧 Repair it?
✨ Reupholster it?
🆕 Give it a complete refresh?

💡 Our advice? Headlinings are always best reupholstered for long-term life. A proper strip-out and reupholstery gives the headlining a much longer-lasting finish, rather than simply repairing the existing material.

It’s all go this week at the workshop! 😅
We have this beautiful Chrysler Crossfire in for a new headlining, along with this Golf R32! Then a local garage have just dropped a lovely Audi A1 off for a seat repair before the new owner collects it next week.
All whilst working on an Audi coupe retrim and a Lamborghini interior!!
It’s a good job we’ve got the apprentice here for an extra pair of hands! 🙌
