🎉 Celebrating 50 Years of Gowing Group 🎉

What an incredible evening celebrating the Gowing Group's 50th Anniversary Party!

The event was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on our history, celebrate the relationships we've built over the years, and recognise the people who have helped shape Gowing Group into the business it is today.

Guests enjoyed a fantastic night of entertainment, including an amazing performance from Britain's Got Talent winner Richard Jones, bespoke Gowing Group-themed cocktails, and plenty of dancing late into the evening.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to mark this special milestone, and to our event sponsors whose support helped make the celebration such a success.

Fifty years is a remarkable achievement, and while we're incredibly proud of our heritage, we're equally excited about what the future holds for Gowing Group.

This week marks the end of an era. Steve Sparkes has retired after 30 years of service at Gowing and Hunt Ltd. Steve has been a stalwart of the business, with a steady hand and a cool head. Countless apprentices have had the opportunity to work alongside and learn from Steve.

Gowing and Hunt Ltd specifically and the industry generally will miss his positive attitude, hard work and skill. He will not be easily replaced.

Steve is pictured with other members of the “Over 20 Years” club.

Steve has promised to return for the annual fishing day; thankfully his skills with a pair of stilson’s exceed those with a fishing rod!

We are immensely proud to announce that Tony Carroll has been confirmed as an MBE. His services to the heating industry have finally been recognised and he will be entitled to use his Member of Boiler Engineers title from today.

The first of many loads of large rectangular duct work, made by our workshop team to a tight deadline, being lifted onto the roof at CamLife Capital Park in Cambridge. Unfortunately, the photo does not do the scale justice!

It's not only large-scale ductwork projects that we can assist with; from single duct pieces to BBQ's, if you can think of it we can probably fabricate it!

Nearly 600kWp of photovoltaic panels, 1366 in total, have been installed by Gowing and Hunt Ltd over thirteen schools for Anglian Learning. The project also included all associated electrical works and upgrades as well as roof safety systems.

A collaboration between the Trust, individual schools and Gowing and Hunt Ltd meant that the project ran smoothly and was completed to a high standard, on time and on budget.

An impressive feat, well done to everyone involved

We know what you are probably thinking; that’s a small person by those perfectly manufactured pieces of ductwork. Well, you’d be wrong (About the person – not the ductwork). Lewis is very proud of the largest pieces of ductwork that he has manufactured to date.

Gowing and Hunt Ltd are excited to be working with DPL Group Ltd on one of their RAF Lakenheath projects. It’s a very interesting project working with a great company.

Although, do you have a larger ductwork project to steal DPL’s crown?

BBQ Update!

The official launch of the G Master took place to cater for the Gowing and Hunt Ltd Staff Fishing Day. The G Master performed perfectly and we are looking forward to its next outing.

Gowing and Hunt Ltd wish to thank Richard Heyes and Tony Brixey of Kier Construction for attending our office today and running their new Health & Safety Initiative, Think Safety Differently.

A cross-section of site operatives attended and all of them were positive about this different approach to Health and Safety.

Whilst vast improvements have been made in our industry regarding Health and Safety hopefully together we can all raise the bar even higher.

So, what do you do when you want a bigger BBQ and no one seems to make one the 'right size'? Ask the Gowing and Hunt Ltd Fabrication Workshop and they will make it bespoke! Four individual trays for coals, a resting shelf and it even comes with a lid.

The team does not just fabricate rectangular ductwork and weld headers. BBQ’s, urinals, roof flashings, shelf units, desk tidies, filter boxes, rainwater hoppers, gutter brackets, dog flaps, ventilation turrets, anti-climb guttering covers, bird mesh protection, box guttering, site box manufacture, louvres and non-return dampers have all been manufactured recently for a variety of clients.

The Gowing and Hunt Ltd Clay Pigeon Team was back in action this weekend as part of the GWCT Charity Day at Six Mile Bottom.

G&H put in a stellar performance but was magnanimous enough to allow others to take the top spots. We are winners every week! We can let others win at the weekend.
