It’s been a busy week here on Tiree. It’s only Thursday morning and I’ve done two out of hours emergency call outs in the evenings already this week.

1 lady with no sockets working and another job last night for a family, in a holiday let with no hot water.

Bring on today’s fun 🫣😂

It is with a very heavy heart that I write this but we have decided that our Tiree family adventure has come to end.

We recently offered on a property where we could put down roots as a family on the island but unfortunately, we didn’t get the news we wanted. With the struggles of finding a long term rental accommodation and the need for stability for my girls, we as a family, have decided to leave the island.

I would like to thank all the wonderful people we have met along this adventure. We have had the most wonderful time and created many memories that I will never forget.

I have some ongoing projects that I will finish but then have time off with the family to enjoy Tiree before we leave. If I have priced work and not started it yet, I will contact you in due course. I can only apologise for any inconvenience but I want to enjoy this wonderful island with the little time we have left as a family.

Once again, thank you to you all and I wish you and this wonderful Island all the best.

Back to work at Whaley Electrical after a fabulous few days enjoying the Tiree Music Festival!

It was great to take a short break, catch up with friends, enjoy the island and experience Tiree Music Festival for the first time.

At the end of last week, I completed the second fix on a fantastic new art studio. It’s always satisfying seeing a project come together and this one is now fully equipped with:

⚡ Lighting throughout
⚡ Plenty of sockets for a practical workspace
⚡ Data connection back to the main house
⚡ Electric heaters
⚡ Hot water heater
⚡ External lighting
⚡ Wireless kinetic switches allowing the outside lights to be controlled from both the house and the studio - a really neat solution with no additional wiring required.

Alongside that, it’s been another busy spell with a mixture of rewires, fault finding, quotations and smaller installation jobs keeping me on the go. It is shaping up to be another busy few months, so a big thank you to all my customers for your continued support and patience 😊

It’s been a busy few weeks at Whaley Electrical!

At the moment I’m in the middle of a full rewire – the nitty-gritty, dusty and dirty side of the job. Working around furniture and the challenges that come with a semi furnished property isn’t always easy, but I’ve broken the back of it now and it will be fantastic when it’s complete.

Alongside the rewire, recent jobs have included:
⚡ Fuseboard upgrades
⚡ First-fix electrics for a new extension
⚡ Wiring new smoke alarms
⚡ Diagnosing and resolving issues with storage heaters
⚡ Visiting customers and providing quotations for future projects.

‼️ Important Notice for Tiree Customers ‼️
Due to the volume of work already scheduled and to ensure I can continue providing a reliable service to existing customers. My diary for Tiree is now fully booked for 2026!

I will therefore not be taking on any new projects or enquiries for 2026 (all existing quotes and enquiries will stand). This allows me to focus on completing the work already committed to and delivering the standard of service my customers expect.

If you are considering electrical work in 2027, please feel free to get in touch. Early enquiries are welcome and I will be happy to discuss your requirements and add you to my list for future scheduling.

What is the quickest way to use over 100m of cable? 👀

Today’s workload was a busy one!

First fixed two completely different projects today, starting with this brand new office, kitchen & storage build (pictured). Plenty of cable going in on this one already and we are only just getting started!

Then onto a much smaller first fix in a garden room significantly smaller in size, but just as important to the customer and their plans for the space.

🚨 Finished the day with an emergency call out to help an islander who had lost power completely.

Busy Saturday on Tiree for Whaley Electrical ⚡️

While most of the UK seems to be enjoying a heatwave, it’s business as usual here with a full day of work underway!

This afternoon I’ve been carrying out a 1st fix on this garden studio project, working alongside Cameron Smith Landscape Contractor. I’ve been installing lighting, sockets and external lighting which is all coming together to create what will be an incredible finished space 👌

I’ve had a huge number of enquiries coming through recently for both Ely and Tiree - thank you for keeping us so busy, but please continue to bear with me while I work through them. It’s always a juggling act being out on the tools and also trying to get out to visit new jobs, but I will get back to everyone as soon as I can.

I’m currently booked pretty solid for the next month or so, but I am always happy to chat through your upcoming project and get things planned properly so everything is ready to go when the time comes.
