Following pointing, the brickwork was then treated with Stormdry, providing a long-lasting protective barrier against the elements for years to come.

Patio completed this week in Emsworth ✨

Fully jet washed to remove all stains, joints carefully cut out with a dust extractor, then repointed and sealed — all set and ready to enjoy those summer nights ☀️

We recently completed a small brickwork repointing project in Fleet.

The existing mortar joints had been poorly pointed in the past, which was causing ongoing damp problems and trapping a significant amount of moisture within the wall.

What We Did: ✅
🧱Carefully raked out the defective mortar joints

🧱 Repointed the brickwork using NHL 3.5 lime mortar, allowing the building to breathe properly

🧱Replaced a couple of standard bricks with air bricks to improve ventilation

🧱Cleaned down and finished all brickwork for a tidy, traditional appearance

By using breathable lime mortar instead of hard cement, moisture can now escape naturally, helping to prevent future damp issues and protecting the integrity of the brickwork.

✔️ Garage door moved back to create more driveway space for a campervan
✔️ Brickwork taken down and repaired
✔️ New fascia, soffit & downpipe fitted
✔️ Brickwork repairs completed

Old garage roof fully stripped and replaced.
• Roof removed
• All new timbers installed
• OSB boards fitted

Another restoration and Re-Pointing job finished this week in Bedhampton.

This was a challenge when we first looked at, there was lots of damaged bricks to the Existing Brickwork.

This was once covered in render so once stripped back you could see all the damage on the property.

Not only was this property holding moisture, but it was once repointed in cement - Using the wrong cement-based mortar can cause moisture issues, leading to spalling (surface breakdown) or frost damage.

All Joints cut out with MAXVAC and dust extraction
All Repointed with Bath Colour- Lime from Wi******er Lime Centre

🧱Lots of Restoration over the last few Months🧱

Adding cement to lime mortar, while sometimes done, is generally discouraged in preservation contexts because it can compromise the long-term integrity of historic buildings and negate the benefits of lime. Lime mortar is flexible and breathable, while cement is harder and less flexible, potentially leading to damage and distress in the building over time.
