The G7 just announced £1.3 billion going into UK clean energy, AI, and battery storage, with thousands of new jobs along with it.

Here's what that means:

Battery storage projects help keep the grid stable, especially as more homes and businesses run on electricity. Clean energy investment means more solar, wind, and renewable infrastructure being built. AI and infrastructure spending tends to speed up how quickly new developments come online.

For homeowners, this points to a future where solar, battery storage, EV charging, and smart energy systems become standard rather than optional.

For businesses and property professionals, it's a sign that energy is moving from being a running cost to being part of how buildings are planned, designed, and built.

We thought it was worth sharing because shifts like this don't always make the news the way they should. The way we power our homes and workplaces is quietly changing, and the next few years will look different from the last.

If you've got questions about EV charging, battery storage, or upgrading your home's electrics for what's coming next, we're happy to chat.

We recently completed a garage project in Farnham.

The job included lighting, sockets and an EV charger supplied from a new, local consumer unit.

Before we started, we spoke to the client about how they planned to use the space and any future plans for the property.

That led to extra sockets being added and a choice of EV charger that will be ready for solar integration when the time comes.

Sometimes the most important part of some jobs isn't the installation itself. It's asking the right questions before the work starts.

And a good installation shouldn't just work for today. It should still make sense in a few years' time.

If you’re looking for a solution that's designed around how you'll actually use your space, get in touch for a consultation.

In our latest newsletter, we look at EV chargers at home and what people often overlook when choosing one.

We cover why not all chargers are the same, why installation quality matters, and why “free” or bundled chargers aren’t always the best long-term option.

We also share what to think about before choosing a setup so it actually works for your home and how you use your car.

If you’re planning an EV charger or already have one, it’s worth a read.

I’ve been thinking about this for a while....

This photo just looks like another day on site.

Wet ground. Mud everywhere. Another job to get through.

But if you’ve worked in construction long enough, you know there’s always more going on than what people see.

There’s a lot of pressure that comes with the work.

Keeping jobs moving. Solving problems. Managing deadlines. Looking after clients. Looking after the team. Making decisions all day.

Then you’ve got life outside of work too.

Family stuff. Money worries. Business pressures. Things people don’t always talk about.

And the funny thing is, most people will still say, “I’m fine.”

I’ve been around long enough to know that stress doesn’t always look obvious.

This is where Mental Health Awareness Month matters, because it reminds us to talk more openly about what’s going on behind the work.

I don’t think it’s about changing construction. It’s about being more aware of the people in it.

Construction talks a lot about health and safety, and rightly so. But we also need to look out for the people behind the hard hats.

Sometimes asking, “You alright mate?” and actually meaning it goes a lot further than people realise.

The job matters but the people doing it matter more.

A lot of the most annoying electrical problems in a home are not the big serious faults people imagine.

Most of the time, it is the smaller things that keep coming back over the years and slowly become a real pain.

🔸 A light that flickers
🔸 Outside lighting that keeps failing
🔸 A circuit that trips for no clear reason
🔸 An extractor fan not doing its job
🔸 A loose socket that's been loose for ages

Each one feels minor on its own. But together, they add up. And half the time, no one really knows what feeds what anymore.

So it's not just the fault, but the feeling that your home's electrics aren't quite reliable.

This is why a regular check-up matters. A yearly visit from a trusted electrician keeps things in order before small issues become big ones. 🔧

Some of our clients prefer a maintenance agreement, so their home gets checked regularly and everything stays safe and working as it should.

Your home should be looked after.

Small problems ignored for too long become bigger ones. Good maintenance helps you avoid that. ✅

The Government has announced up to 25% cuts for over 10,000 UK manufacturers from 2027.

That sounds good, but what does it actually mean day to day?

It gives many businesses a bit more breathing space.

✅ More room in the budget for upgrades and new projects

✅ Less pressure when running high-energy equipment

✅ Easier to plan ahead without worrying as much about rising costs

It also means we’ll likely see more sites being upgraded, more systems being improved, and more focus on doing things properly.

For anyone involved in property or commercial work, this is a shift worth paying attention to.

Most people call the electrician once the walls are up…

On modern homes, that's often too late.

This project has solar, battery storage, EV chargers, a heat pump and more, so the electrical supply needed upgrading.
Before the supply was even connected, we had already:
arranged the new 3-phase supply with the DNO
done the trench work
laid the cable ducts
prepared the duct entries
cast the concrete slab
installed the new meter cabinet
It's not the pretty part of the job. But it's the bit that stops delays, wrong cable routes, last-minute digging, and costly changes down the line. And it makes sure the supply is safe and strong enough.
Modern homes need modern electrical planning.
Talk to your electrician early. It saves time, money and stress.
If you’re planning a new build or full home upgrade, get us in early, we'll help you get the groundwork right.
