Part 2 of this previous restoration project completed by Williams Restoration 👷‍♂️

Following the structural reinforcement and preparation, we returned to complete the rendering stage. Using specialist materials, we carefully applied and shaped the new render to match the original features of the property, ensuring a seamless and long-lasting finish.

Attention to detail is key in restoration work, and the end result not only strengthens the structure but restores the character and appearance of the building.

Another transformation completed and protected for years to come.

A look back at a previous project completed by Williams Restoration 👷‍♂️

We carefully removed the damaged and failing masonry above the window and installed stainless steel reinforcement bars to provide essential structural support. This was then secured and prepared with specialist backing and mesh to ensure a strong, stable base for the new render finish.

These stages are crucial to not only restore the appearance, but to protect the building long-term and prevent future cracking or movement.

Part 2 continues on Monday where we’ll be completing the next stage and bringing everything together.

Williams restoration Ltd:

Careful restoration of a badly deteriorated period window surround. The original moulded render had failed and detached, exposing inappropriate cement repairs and damaged brickwork beneath. We began by carefully removing the failed and non-breathable cement material to prevent further moisture retention and decay.

The exposed areas were then rebuilt using traditional methods and breathable materials, reinstating the original profile and architectural detail. Missing sections were hand-formed to match the existing mouldings, ensuring the character and proportions of the façade were preserved.

The finished work restores both the structural integrity and the historic appearance of the window surround, allowing the building to perform as intended while maintaining its period charm.
