The Great Collard Bake Off 🍰

This August, Team Collard swapped their hi‑vis for whisks as we held our very own bake‑off to raise money for Breast Cancer. Cakes were baked, cakes were bought… and cakes vanished faster than we could say ‘star baker’.

We raised nearly £200 - crowned Abi with gold for her cheese, bacon and sundried tomato pinwheels, handed Kerri the silver for her jam and coconut cupcakes, and awarded Gerry the bronze for his shortbreads - though between us, we know it was actually Gerry’s wife who deserves the glory. Simon walked away as Star Baker with a delicious beef wellington.

Thanks to everyone who joined in and helped raise money.🩷

🏁 Ricky Collard had a solid weekend at Donington Park at the weekend with an 8th and 5th place finish in the first two races of the day.

Unfortunately a puncture in race three ended his day with a DNF and fifth place overall in the standings.

🏁Ricky Collard heads to Donington Park in a bid to find his maiden win in the British Touring Car Championship.

Our Demolition Contracts Manager has taken the BTCC by storm this year, fighting at the sharp end of the fiercely competitive grid all season. With multiple podiums and lying 4th in the standings overall he’s got everything it takes to follow in his father’s footsteps and finally visit the elusive top step of the podium. 🤞

Meanwhile Rob Collard raced at Snetterton last weekend in the British GT Championship and despite mechanical failures blighting his Saturday free-practice and qualifying sessions, he and teammate Hugo Cook brought their Lamborghini Huracan home in 2nd and 4th places in Sunday's races.👏

One of our proudest achievements this year has been supporting Thames Hospice's Trunks Across the Thames trail as the official logistics partner.🦣🐘

Our team successfully installed all 30 elephant sculptures across Windsor, Eton, Maidenhead and Slough, helping bring this fantastic fundraising initiative to life.

A huge thank you to the Collard team, who gave up their Sunday afternoon and worked through to the early hours of Monday morning to ensure every sculpture was installed safely and on schedule.

We're helping to build the next generation of lorry drivers through our apprenticeship programme and the Collard Academy. 📖

Last month, Claire Richardson, Collard Training Academy Coordinator, and Laura Johnson, HR Advisor, attended a career day at Cranborne School in Basingstoke to raise awareness of jobs in logistics. They were joined by our newest Apprentice, Abi Mansbridge, who talked to the students about her own experiences as an Apprentice here at Collard.
