Throughout the summer we’ve had the next generation where possible getting involved with as much as we can, letting them get stuck into new tasks and driving under supervision in the yard has given them a proper confidence boost and also a firm work ethic, the 5am alarm clocks and hot days were no issue and not once has any moaning been spoken. There were no missed days or “I’m not in today” phone calls which is far too common these days. So Max, George, Harris and Rosie be upstanding and thank you for your efforts, it’s been a pleasure, we will see you at half term! ❤️🚜🚛🌲

Coventry city limits were on the cards for this clearance to enable safe demolition of the flats, trees in the drop and exclusion zones needed removing before the demolition crew moved in. The power, control and duty of the Liebherr make this work exceptionally safe, controlled and disruption free. Thanks to Eddie as always and Neil for logistics plus Rofelo Forestry Limited for getting chipped up ahead of programme. Another one off the list and a happy client for facilitating the site requirements safely, ahead of schedule and leaving the site ready to knock.

Wrapping up on the PoW Bridge inspection of the abutments culverts and wing walls with the gang, keeping things on programme there is key due to the traffic implications involved. Cracking project safely delivered ahead of schedule. Also on service locations for a well known fast food chain, the water meter could not be found so we traced it and uncovered the hiding place.

This weeks antics are summed up quite simply as “Game of CONES!!” Days and nights were required and little sleep was achieved but what a performance from all of the crew. Reducing fire risk and improving vision splays for safety across the network working with ecologists to ensure no fury friends were affected. We were spoilt for views of the eclipse from our vantage point too. Top performance from everyone even with the few curve balls that were thrown to make things interesting. Some different scenarios this week showing how varied the work can be, clearing an overgrown angled courtyard wall using rope access, site surveying for a new build SuDS system, CBR testing on a big Civils job we are hopefully starting and clearing some highways compounds for safety issues.
