Fitted a new consumer unit and did a bit of rewiring in a particularly damp part of the house. A humidistat bathroom extractor sorted the damp problem out and the burning smells and electric arcing sounds have stopped. Some nice new lights and it's all hunky dory.
Here's what the client said:
Carl is clean and tidy in his work. He has a fastidious nature which is reassuring when it comes to electrics. He was considerate in working around the movements of our young family, when it came to planning furniture movements, floorboard lifting etc and leaving us in a situation we could operate safely in each evening. He was also patient in discussing options, and gave suggestions at appropriate times for us to consider alternatives, but ultimately tried to achieve our desired outcome. We now have - on Carls suggestion - some kinetic light switches which allowed us to remove some unsightly cables from around our door frames in our 1890s Victorian terrace. A great improvement! Carl is fair about time spent/ cost and importantly a very nice chap!
