Two days in on the final stage of the countess wear job, weā€™ve removed the old plastic roof, and turned it into a warm roof which will make it more useable in winter and summer times, the new roof as been built above the conservatory, meaning there is no additional weigh on the glass, and can be left in place. The lads have worked well on this one,

Hereā€™s a garage flat roof weā€™ve just finished. It had asbestos sheets on originally, weā€™ve removed and disposed of properly, added new timbers to take 18mm osb boards. Used a traditional 3-layer torch on felt system. And fitted new PVC fascia and guttering

So I get a call from on Friday about a roof being carried out by another company, who have been booted of site by the owner, after a quick look around I can only describe this company as COWBOYS, no eave support trays, all battens cut on one rafter, brizallian slates fixed with 30 mm alloy nails, not enough head lap, theyā€™ve even taken half the neighbours roof off. All rubbish left on public footpath, asbestos slates just left laying around. And after speaking to the council finding out the scaffold doesnā€™t have a street licence, šŸ˜”šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ˜”, although they said they have:

This company is definitely not local, the boss has the gift of the gab, but his cowboys workforce doesnā€™t have a clue,

Ppl please be carefully who you get to carry out your works, do some background checks and get a couple of quotes at least, I have now given the lady a new price and am about 50% cheaper then the cowboys.

Phase one of the re-roof finished, (got 2/3 lower roofs to do later, lads worked well in this heat to get it finished.
