Rain is forecast in our region this week, and for most of us, this means our lawns will start to show signs of recovery.
But it’s important not to reach for the mower too early, even if you have patches of dastardly weeds that you can’t wait to level! Instead, wait for substantial green growth. This can take up to 14 days after rainfall starts.
Once your lawn is ready to mow, keep the blades high for a couple of cuts and leave small clippings to help retain the moisture.
Once the lawn is looking healthier, check for any permanent damage which may need to be returfed. Autumn’s cooler temperatures and regular rainfall is ideal for returfing. But do wait and see before ordering, as lawns can be surprisingly resilient!
