Well at week number 4 we are a month into us showing our picture of the week.
We hope you are enjoying this showcase of our exploits as much as we are enjoying reminiscing about all these great places we have been.

This week is a picture taken by our own Charlie when he was out for a day at Blue Anchor beach. A nice sunset always makes for a good photo opportunity, especially when you keep a drone in the car for those 'just in case' moments.

Well it's that time again.... Picture of the week!

And this week we are in Creech St Michael near Taunton, and it is the historic 5 arches bridge that took the now disused Chard Canal over the river Tone to join the Bridgwater and Taunton Canal.

Hopefully you have enjoyed seeing our recent posts about our recent work on Drakes Island with the .

We have been sorting out all the data and images we have collected over the last couple of years and have decided that we want to share some of it with all our friends out there.

So we will be posting pictures once a week of places we have been and jobs we have worked on, just to share the interesting and amazing places we get to see.

So to kick off we are going way back to some of the first work we tried out, when there was a collapse of the cliffs at Sidmouth, Devon. These are actually screenshots of the 3D model we made of the cliffs, you can see the detail with cracks and water visible, fascinating stuff!

So look out for our upcoming weekly posts, and if you have a project you want doing or a picture you need taking let us know and you may well be our next weekly picture!

As promised, here is the 3D flyover of the Drakes Island UAV Survey!

The final results look really good and should prove very useful to a number of groups.

What a year! Whilst everything has been a bit chaotic, here at ISCA Drones we have been working away quietly on some fantastic projects.

Back in March we worked together with The Royal Marines carrying out a UAV survey of Drakes Island in Plymouth Sound.

Here are some captures of the resulting 3D point cloud in real-colour and elevation.

Thanks to the work done by Royal Navy surveyors we were able to get accuracies of

An orthomosaic image of the ceiling of a Saloon in Poltimore House and Grounds, the intricate plaster lime mouldings show how ornate this room was in its prime, with a lot of it lasting to this day despite the current state of disrepair of the building.

An orthomosaic image is made by 'stitching' together multiple higher resolution images to create one full image at a similar high resolution, allowing us to see the entirety of this beautiful workmanship in great detail.

Following on from yesterdays plea for information about the landowners in Creech St Michael where the old Chard Canal and railway embankment remains are found, here is the 5 arches bridge that used to carry the railway over the River Tone to connect to the main railway line.

ISCA Drones recently visited an interesting site just outside Taunton, Somerset in Creech St Michael. It is an old abandoned canal (Chard Canal - closed 1868) with an old railway embankment running alongside.

There are also several pillboxes and other wartime defences dotted along this short stretch of embankment.

As we have a keen interest in archaeology, history and local heritage we wanted to survey and document some of these features in more detail, however it is sometimes difficult to find landowners for these areas

So this post is also a plea, to anyone that may know of the landowners, or someone involved with the land that these pillboxes and canal remains lie on? Particularly the farmer/landowner where the 5 arches bridge enters thier field, and also across the road where I believe the address is "The Embankment"

Many thanks, and hopefully we will soon have some interesting photos and 3D models to show soon.

ISCA Drones recently visited the Somerset Levels. Coming across the beautiful National Trust South West site - Burrow Mump.

Taking this wonderful 360 degree panorama from the public footpath along the river Parrett, it shows the vastness of the levels and the prominence of this feature on the landscape.

Keep a look out for future posts from around Devon and Somerset.

Here is the fireplace from Poltimore House and Grounds as a 3D model. You can see it in situ in the 360 photo we posted earlier this week. Stay tuned for some impressive surprises from this amazing house!
