This is what a skim coat does. Tired, patchy old plaster up top, smooth and flat underneath, ready for the decorator.

You don't always need to hack the old plaster off. A skim over the top gives you a fresh, even surface to paint straight onto.

That crack that keeps coming back no matter how many times you fill it?

Filler just sits on the surface, so it opens up again with the smallest bit of movement or damp. A proper plaster repair cuts out the failed area, sorts what's behind it, and skims it back in so the patch disappears once it's painted.

Another one completed 👌

Bathroom walls prepped for a local plumber - all walls bonded and plastered due to poor condition to begin with, most of the room will be wet walled, so getting everything straight and solid underneath was key.

Recent job completed in Falkirk ✅

This one was a full bedroom, hallway, staircase and lower hallway — and definitely not a straightforward skim.

Due to the condition of the walls, the bedroom had to be fully bonded out before any plastering could begin. A lot of prep work went into this job to get everything back to a solid, level surface.

Plenty of tricky areas throughout — angles, edges, and repairs — but all taken care of properly before the final finish was applied.

As always, time taken on prep makes all the difference to the end result 👌
