Recent completed work, a full garage conversion. Separated a detached garage to create a new craft/other room and separate storage room. All existing walls studded, sound and thermal insulation/ vapour barrier under plasterboard. New stud partition with new door entrance to storage room. To add light, new window cut into the side wall, fully braced as single skin with steel lintel over. Plaster overlaid with lining paper to be painted and new floor laid. All new sockets and lighting introduced to make the space fully functional and cosy place. I am so thankful to the customer for looking after me during this build who now has a new perfect space to spread into. It’s been so busy this year, thank you all that allow me to provide a small service to make life a little more beautiful than it was. Here is a forecourt paving that transforms the front of the house to make life a little easier. Grey sandstone pavers laid with new manhole cover which levels out the forecourt and makes a statement upon entering the home. If you or anyone you know is interested in upgrading their frontage then let them know what can be done. I pride in giving good value and this type of change does not have to be to expensive, give them my details and I will happily have a look and provide a competitive quote, 😄😄😄😄😄

It’s been a while since I posted, really busy back end of the year, thank you to all of our customers that supported us this year. First post was undertaken in two jobs, the initial project was to remove the infill of a circular stone chipping area and lay new Indian sandstone pavers to create a flat even surface to allow a table and chairs to sit and admire the view of the beautiful river. The finished article created a perfect space for perfect customers. Thank you for looking after me and I hope you enjoy many years looking down over the river and hope that the kingfisher comes to visit. Finally, the remaining slabs were fitted to the front. Old concrete pavers replaced with the remaining sandstone pavers to produce a new path to front door and to the rear side entrance. Perfect use of left over pavers so that there is no waste.

Wonderful bathroom and downstairs loo transformation. Stripped all old tiles and flooring in both and fitted lovely new floor tiles and large wall tiles which transforms these two spaces to something that looks high end 5 star hotel bathroom. Wonderful choice of tile by these wonderful customers. Main bathroom needed section of new floor to be fitted as old floor had become spongy and shower wall had to be completely stripped, new water resistant plaster board fitted, tanked to reduce risk of water damage however, the end result is stunning. Recent work completed, interior redecoration of every room including hallway, walls, ceiling and woodwork painted in a three bedroom house. Stud partition walls repaired where large holes from previous fixings undertaken, bathroom ceiling and wall tape repaired and painted, new shower screen fitted and feature walls in lounge repainted. One of my larger projects this year, complete garden remodel, new decking, new patio, complete removal of existing grass and installation of sleeper retaining wall which holds new beautiful artificial lawn. A garden that the owner can be proud of and can and does now use. So, old tree and shrubs removed, decking laid over old patio, now levelled to remove awkward downward slope. Sleeper walls embedded to ensure new artificial lawn framed beautifully. Patio area created to give extra utility and old path enlarged using recycled pavers, perfect space for wonderful customers, thank you for the opportunity to use some creative skills and I hope you enjoy many years using this space. It’s been a very busy year this year, thank you to all my customers for the variety of work. Below shows a patio remodel, old pavers lifted that had been laid on sand so had moved and become uneven, relaid on a mortar base and pointed, so now even and usable. Enjoy the sun( when it comes out), happy summer days. Whilst new cement mortar used, recycling the old pavers that were still good, gives me great pleasure, make good and mend still works and the customer now has many years to use this wonderful space, HowesHandyHands happy to look at any project where you want to reuse materials

A slightly different job, old shuttered driveway edging removed and new shuttering installed. Wood shuttering installed along the edge of flower borders made the borders stand out and very user friendly in keeping grass away from a flower border. It’s been a while since I have posted, it has been a very busy start to the year for which I am eternally grateful, thank you to all of my customers who have kept me busy, I hope that I make them smile as much as they give me the opportunity to smile. The first of the posts is a small kitchen refurbishment to correct poorly fitted wall and floor cabinets so that the new tenants can use the kitchen. Very pleased with the finished results. Just in case, the last few photos are the after the corrections have been made! The original wall cabinet fittings could have resulted in the cabinets coming off the wall, floor cabinets were meant to be new units however had been cobbled together using the old units with new doors poorly fitted! I am always keen to help should you or someone you know need help. Keep smiling, the world is a wonderful place 😄😄

One of my latest projects, full garden makeover. Old raised pond dug out and removed, area levelled and new circular patio set laid with additional patio to meet decked area. Raised beds created to cater for veg growing in rear beds with flower bed to front. New bespoke path made using recycled material inlaid into concrete. New turf laid, greenhouse constructed and new planting which includes apple, plum, raspberry and strawberry plants. Old plants that were in the garden have been re-homed where possible. A few before and after pictures below. Absolutely loved doing the work even through the the rain and freezing conditions. Spring will see this garden come alive as now all the available space can be used. If you or someone you know wants a garden makeover then call me. Small or large at competitive rates.
