I would like to apologise to the residents around Beaufort/Miller Drive area trying to enjoy their Sunday with us making so much noise but it was necessary to avoid more damage from the high winds.

We were called this morning to attend x2 wind blown trees including an Ash tree which had completely failed but had landed causing minimal damage unfortunately it hit a Willow tree which was in a precarious position hung up in the pine tree.

When on site the team and myself had to come up with a plan to stop the Willow pushing the Pine over onto the greenhouses etc and on top of this we had to stop the tree from twisting the other way where there is a shed in close proximity.

With a lot of ropes/pulleys and a bit of luck we managed to get the tree to fall back on its own footprint, miss the concrete fence posts and make all of the trees safe by 3pm!

Tomorrow we will be on site again clean up!

Cat rescue….. 🐈‍⬛

Not what we expected to be doing today in 40mph+ winds and rain 😅

We had a phone call to try and get this poor cat out of a tree in all this wind and rain today after him having spent all of last night up the tree.

Luckily the cat stayed in the bag and is now safe 👍🏼

Will be loading some of our recent work photos shortly as we haven’t put much up recently.

Here we have a black poplar that was causing subsidence to a structure on the opposite side of the road! Very rare occurrence, as most trees only root in the top 600mm of soil, but this may vary on deep clay.

We safely removed the tree using a 50 ton crane, avoiding all targets including the adjacent road, completed within 4 hours with zero damage done and one happy customer! Thank you to Coussens Cranes for helping us out once again.

Once again I have been awful at updating our work on here 😅

We have had a huge variant in work lately with clearing up summer limb drops on oak trees (give it a Google it’s an interesting read), loads of hedge trimming, tree reductions, a couple of site clearances, a wind blown horse chestnut tree that somehow missed everything and to top it off we have been working closely with some ecologists to delicately strim high grass down to try and find slow worms! I added a nice picture of one we found.

🚨🚨🚨severe weather warning🚨🚨🚨We are all primed and ready for the bad weather over the next couple of days so if you require any assistance with fallen trees etc please call us on 01329 283122 💨 🌳

On another note here is what can happen when trees hit by bad weather…..we cleared and removed two 350+ year old Oak trees that fell in high wind.

The trees where rotten at ground level up to around 3m but all the timber above was solid and very dense. Thankfully we had some big kit on hand to help us out and the team were amazing (as usual 😉)

To say I am gutted is an understatement.
All of our saws and hedge trimmers stolen and the doors rammed which smashed one of our transits that was behind the door.
Now the team and myself can’t earn a living until I get this sorted.
Next door was also burgled at the same time.

Two firms, thousands of pounds in tools, a new door and all the lads who can’t work. 😔

Friday’s job has to be one of the trickiest ones in a while.
Granted the eucalyptus tree we were removing wasn’t huge but as it had no drop zone for us to lay bits into we had to rig everything. The immediate obstacles within 6ft of the tree included a septic tank, wooden outbuilding with a lead roof, marble slabs and a newly renovated garden on the other side.

We used both our platform and Matt climbing to try and work around all of these obstacles and thankfully our planning prevailed. We also got to work in the shadow of the beautiful castle!

The Eucalyptus was approved for removal by Fareham bc due to considerable dieback and risk of damage to people and property.
