Exciting times ahead for NLC Electrical ⚡☀️🔋🚗

As the industry continues to evolve, so do we.

NLC Electrical will soon be expanding further into the renewables side of the domestic electrical industry, with Solar PV, Battery Storage Systems, and EV charging installations becoming part of our services later this summer.

We’ve already been heavily involved in heat pump installations, and with more and more customers asking about solar, battery storage, and EV charging solutions, it feels like the natural next step for the business.

Over the years, NLC Electrical has worked hard to build a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and taking real pride in every installation we carry out. That same standard will continue across all renewable installations—done properly, safely, and to the highest standard.

Sunday funday… and for me that means getting stuck into the updated BS 7671 Wiring Regulations – Amendment 4 📚⚡
Plenty to read, plenty to take in, but staying up to date with the latest regulations is a huge part of delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality electrical work.

Small details make a big difference 👌

Installed these Knightsbridge screwless antique brass accessories today for one of my regular customers in Whiteley.

Fast-charge USB sockets, USB charging outlets and a 5A round pin socket, all finished in a smart antique brass flat-plate design for a clean modern look.

Chandelier Installation Completed ✨
A recent install where the client wanted a beautiful (and very expensive!) chandelier fitted safely and securely.
Due to the weight of the chandelier (7kg) and the existing lath and plaster ceiling, the standard fixing wouldn’t have been suitable. The safest and most solid option was to lift sections of the new carpet and access the floor above to create a proper structural fixing.
Work involved:
• Carefully lifting new carpets to gain access
• Constructing a solid timber brace between joists
• Installing a secure fixing point capable of supporting the chandelier load
• Enlarging the opening in the decorative plaster ceiling rose
• Installing and wiring the chandelier
As you can see from the photos, the brace was strong enough to take my weight — ensuring the chandelier has a solid and safe fixing into the structure rather than just the ceiling plaster.
The end result looks fantastic and, most importantly, is installed safely and correctly.
Very happy clients once they saw the chandelier in place! 💡

External enclosure installed to house the consumer unit for this ASHP installation.

Due to limited space inside the property, a enclosure was used to accommodate the consumer unit, incorporating a Type B HP RCD specifically designed for heat pump protection.

This allowed us to safely run the new dedicated circuit to the heat pump while keeping the installation neat, compliant and accessible.
