A loft conversion is a big investment, and the cheapest quote isn’t always the best value. Asking the right questions before you sign can save you from unexpected costs, delays and stress further down the line.

What’s included? Drawings, structural calcs, Building Regs, scaffolding, electrics, plastering, waste removal. Get it in writing.

What isn’t included? Decorating, flooring, built-in wardrobes and upgraded fittings are common extras.

Are you fully insured? Public liability, employers’ liability and contractors’ all-risk. Don’t be afraid to ask for proof.
