Recent works at Sittingbourne & Milton Regis Golf Club involved delivering full services for a new paddle court installation.

The project required coordination across multiple areas including trenching works, fibre installation, water supplies and 230v electrical systems.

The trenching alone covered around 200 metres, meaning careful planning and communication between multiple teams was essential from start to finish.

Projects like this rely heavily on timing, coordination and clear communication to make sure every element comes together safely and efficiently.

Electrical faults can be disruptive and stressful, especially when they happen without warning. In those moments the priority is not just restoring power quickly but understanding what actually caused the issue.

Proper fault finding is a structured process that looks beyond the surface problem. It involves testing circuits, isolating sections of the system and identifying whether the issue is caused by overload, damage or component failure.

Fixing the symptom without finding the cause often leads to repeat problems. That is why a proper diagnostic approach matters, because it ensures the system is not only restored but made safe and stable moving forward.

If you are dealing with electrical faults we can diagnose and repair the issue properly

Electric vehicle adoption is increasing quickly and more properties are now expected to support charging capability as standard rather than an upgrade.

Installing an EV charger is not as simple as fitting a unit on a wall. It requires careful assessment of the existing electrical capacity, safe integration with current systems and proper design to ensure long term reliability.

If the system is not planned correctly it can lead to overload issues or unnecessary upgrades later. A properly designed installation takes future demand into account as well as current usage.

As technology continues to evolve, EV readiness is becoming an important part of both residential and commercial property value.

If you are considering EV charging installation we can assess your property and design the right solution

For landlords and commercial property owners, electrical testing is one of those things that often gets delayed until it becomes urgent, but in reality it plays a key role in keeping both people and property safe.

Over time, electrical systems naturally degrade and usage changes. Without regular inspection, small issues can go unnoticed until they become serious faults or compliance problems.

Testing gives a clear picture of the condition of the installation, including wiring condition, protective device performance and overall system safety. It also ensures the property remains compliant with current regulations which is essential for insurance and legal protection.

It is not just about ticking a box. It is about knowing the property is genuinely safe to occupy.

We provide electrical testing and certification for residential and commercial properties.

The real difference only shows when problems appear.

Anyone can look reliable when everything is going smoothly.

The real test is what happens when it is not.

Delays, material issues, site changes, unexpected problems. That is where suppliers and contractors are actually proven.

From experience, strong working relationships come down to one thing. Trust not just price.

The best partners tend to do a few things consistently:
- They pick up the phone when issues happen instead of avoiding them
- They help solve problems instead of passing them on
- They stick to agreements even when pressure increases
- They communicate clearly when plans change

We have worked with both ends of the scale.

A lot of older properties still rely on outdated fuse boards that technically still work, but that does not always mean they are suitable for modern use or current safety standards.

Electrical demand has increased significantly over the years with modern appliances, technology and lifestyle changes. That means older systems are often operating closer to their limits without being designed for it.

Upgrading a consumer unit is about improving protection, reducing risk and bringing the installation in line with current regulations. It improves fault detection, enhances fire safety and ensures the system can handle modern electrical loads properly.

In many cases it also becomes a requirement during renovations, inspections or when properties change ownership.

If you are unsure about your consumer unit we can assess it and advise on next steps

One of the biggest challenges on projects right now is cost.

Not just rising material prices, but understanding what is actually included in electrical work.
A socket on a wall looks simple. What is not visible is everything behind it.

What sits behind that one point includes:
1. Time spent routing cables through structure
2. Testing and verification after installation
3. Compliance with regulations and standards
4. Inspection and certification requirements
5. Ongoing professional training to stay current
6. Responsibility for long term safety after handover

Electrical work is one of the most heavily regulated parts of construction. That regulation exists for a reason, because when something fails the consequences are serious.

So what you are paying for is not just installation. It is the full process required to make it safe, compliant and reliable.

If you want clarity on what actually goes into your electrical costs we can break it down properly for you.

The UK Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) set the standard for electrical installations across the country.

But what most people do not realise is how often they change.

Updates and amendments are introduced regularly, driven by new technology, safety findings, and real-world failures. What was compliant a few years ago may no longer meet current standards.

That affects things like:
- Correct circuit design
- Earthing methods
- Protective devices
- Inspection and testing intervals

And it is not just traditional installs anymore. EV chargers, renewables, surge protection and energy efficiency requirements are all now part of modern compliance expectations.

We are also seeing more emphasis on system-wide safety rather than just individual components.

For property owners and developers, compliance is not just about passing inspection. It is about protecting people, assets, and long-term performance. Falling behind increase risk and it can delay projects and impact insurance cover.

That is why staying current matters.

Why does a “simple” electrical check cost more than you expect. Because what you see is never the full job

Most people look at a socket or a light fitting and think it is a quick install. In reality, testing and inspection is where the real work happens.

It is not just turning power on and off. It is checking:
- Every circuit is safe under load
- Protection devices will actually trip when needed
- Earthing is correct and effective
- The installation still meets current regulations, not outdated ones

An interesting article came up in conversation in the office recently highlighting that electrical faults remain one of the leading causes of fires in UK properties. And the majority of those issues come from things you cannot see. Loose connections, overloaded circuits, ageing systems that were never retested.

That is why certification matters. It is not paperwork for the sake of it. It is proof that what is behind your walls will actually perform when it matters.

Because once something fails, it is already too late to check it.

If your property has not been tested recently or you are unsure about its condition we can help.
