Having a go at a bit of Veteranisation on this dead Beech Tree in Felixstowe. Veteranisation is the acceleration of creating decay, cavities and dead wood habitats.
We could have removed the tree but it’s far more valuable being left as habitat. It will be enjoyable for the customer to watch the process over the years.

A really enjoyable job, and nice to be given the opportunity to carry out this work.

Crown reducing this beautiful Lime tree in Felixstowe, Suffolk. It’s the third time I’ve pruned this tree and it never gets any easier. It’s at an awkward size where the limbs are quite small to stand on to prune the top. I was happy with the out come. I was contacted by Trimley St Mary Parish Council to provide some advise on how to best manage this beautiful Monkey Puzzel Tree at the welcome hall. Due to the nature of the tree being very spiky It was a risk to the public and hirers of the hall. I convinced them to purchase a tree cage and crown raise it to above 2.5 meters. I promised them I would put some lights on it for Christmas. It wasn’t as straightforward as I hoped, but we got there in the end and the tree has been saved.

The lights were provided by Trimley St Mary Parish Council and have been put on in such a way that they will not strangle the limbs.

First trim of the year for this beautiful garden in Felixstowe Suffolk. I hone my trimming skills on this job, probably the most technical one I do but it always looks amazing. The wisteria has put on an incredible display and smells amazing.

This was an old Cherry with a co-dominant stem, one of which failed late last year. The remaining bias of the tree was favouring the neighbours property so the decision was made to fell the tree and leave the stool and brash for habitat. A lovely day for a technical job.

Pruning this beautiful old Cherry Tree in Trimley St Martin. It had been heavily pruned many moons ago so I went for a sympathetic reduction and thinned out the epicormic growth leaving the tree looking natural and balanced allowing more light through the tree. This very old Oak tree fell in October damaging the Laurel and bay either side of it and completely crushing the shed and contents. It’s such a shame when this happens. You could see nails deep inside the the heart wood where they had been tapped in years ago. We left what was remaining of the stem as habitat and noticed a little oak sapling at the base so hopefully this will continue to grow and take its place. With thanks to AdScape Ltd for helping on this one it was an enjoyable job.

Working in this lovely garden in Local to Martlesham. I reduced the variegated Acer by 30% and shaped it, leaving it looking natural and balanced. The hedge was reduced by 2’ in height and hedge trimmed. The Holly, Eucalyptus and Smoke Bush were lightly reduced. The owner was over the moon with the end result.
