WJL Contracts is a market leader in the supply and installation of joinery and associated products.

We are WJL – combining technology with tradition – we provide an excellent framework for supplying bespoke joinery to the commercial, leisure, healthcare, education and fit-out sectors. WJL Contracts benefits from its links with its sister company Winston Joinery Limited; its in-house manufacturing arm, which has 20 bench joiners, housed in a fully equipped workshop, complete with CNC machinery. he synergy between the companies creates control, flexibility and assurance. WJL Contracts have obtained Q-Mark certification for the installation of door sets. We are also members of Construction Line, and are SMAS / CHAS accredited. All our site fitting teams are 100% CSCS card accredited, managers hold SMSTS and SSSTS qualifications

WJL Contracts delivers the complete interior fit out. A typical package might include: • Doors, frames and run material including certified fire & acoustic door sets • Purpose made screens and windows • Bespoke and heritage joinery • Reception desks, fitted furniture and panelling. Typical Sectors include Education, Housing, Hotels & Leisure, Student Accommodation and Commercial. We have an extensive project management team consisting of two offices- one centrally based in Staffordshire and a Southern Office in Bishops Stortford. Our experienced Project Management team delivers schemes with project values of between £200,000 and £2,500,000. More recently we have developed our own fully tested (with Sound Research Laboratories) Acoustic Panelling and Baffles system. These products are available supply only or supplied and installed all with Acoustic Test Data

New Project! 🏆

WJL are thrilled to embark on a new project at Meadow High School alongside our esteemed supply chain partner, ISG, and the renowned architectural firm, Noviun. Jim Greensmith, Business Development Director at WJL Contracts. "Our collective expertise and shared vision for excellence will undoubtedly result in a project that exceeds expectations and positively impacts the local community”.

The WJL scope of works includes a small amount of first-fix roof works which will be followed up by the installation of doorsets and ironmongery, utilising our WJL Needle methodology to ensure certification supply and installation compliance in relation to fire doorsets.

Having established a longstanding presence in the Education sector, WJL Contracts brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to delivering exceptional results. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our ongoing mission to enhance educational environments.

We've been expanding! 📈

Recently, WJL have taken on new employees that have already started on some amazing work.

Kyle Foster is now a valuable member of our Design Team, Zhan Musev has stepped in as Projects Manager, Luke Jones brings his expertise as a Bench Joiner, Venn Morris assumes the role of Technical Administrator/CAD Trainee, and Paul Baker takes charge as Joinery Project Manager.

We're thrilled to have them on board, ready to contribute their skills and passion to WJL!

Over the bank holiday weekend, one of our team members Rebecca Hilton dedicated her time to baking delicious treats for our inaugural WJL Bake Sale, all in support of Mates in Mind 🍰

Her efforts paid off, as she collected an impressive £84 (and the tally is still rising). With WJL matching this amount, our total has exceeded £150! 🎉

A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who indulged in the goodies, and a special appreciation to Becky for her exceptional baking skills!

Project Throwback! ⏮️

WJL were appointed by McAleer & Rushe to deliver bespoke joinery service for the front of house and reception area at the brand new Hampton by Hilton hotel located in Bath.

Our workshop team delivered an outstanding standard of work on Hampton by Hilton hotel, working closely to a tight timescale solely from the architect’s drawings. A fantastic job from the start, handled superbly well by every member of the team from start to finish, including our sub-contract team on site.

New Offices for Robust Uk!

We've almost completed the bespoke joinery works for Robust's new £6 million production facility in Newcastle-under-Lyme, working directly with the client to supply and fit of all specialist joinery works.

Former Managing Director at Robust UK David Lycett said: “We have been looking to move to bigger, better facilities for some time, but we wanted to find the perfect location not just to meet our manufacturing needs but the right location for our staff too. We’ve made the announcement over this last week and everyone’s really excited about the move."

Take a behind-the-scenes look at some of our ongoing projects;

The first desk is for ISG's Tempo project in London. It is constructed from MR bonded MDF and steel and is about 6m long and 4m wide. The desk, once completed, will be fully tiled with a granite worktop and large, steel canopy.

The Mynydd desk (pronounced Min-ith and meaning Mountain) is for a school in Flintshire, North Wales for a Robertson Construction project. This reception desk is made from Birch Plywood and Valchromat MDF, which is an MDF available in various colours, Khaki and Black.
