A little progress update on our current job 👌
The front of this property is really starting to come together. We’re replacing around 50 badly weathered Accrington bricks with better-looking reclaimed Accringtons, bringing the brickwork back to life while keeping it in keeping with the original.
Alongside the brick replacements, we’re carrying out a full repoint to both the front and rear of the property.
Plenty of work still to do, but already making a big difference! 💪
Just a note on the photos — some of the bricks you can see are the original bricks being used temporarily to close the cavity. These will be replaced with the reclaimed Accringtons as the work progresses.

A prime example of long-term water damage caused by leaking or overflowing guttering and downpipes. 💧
It’s always worth keeping an eye on your guttering and downpipes and getting any issues sorted before they turn into a much bigger problem! 😁

Just a little follow-up from our last job post 👌
Here’s a snippet of some of the before and afters, including removing all the brickwork for the old window and rebuilding it with a much better-matched brick.

A LOT of work has gone into this one! 💪

This was easily some of the toughest pointing we’ve had to remove. The grinder was practically bouncing off it, and the chisels didn’t stand much of a chance either — so we certainly had our work cut out!

As you can see, the brickwork had previously been repointed using an incredibly hard material which, over time, had caused a lot of damage to the surrounding brickwork.

We ended up replacing and rebuilding around 400 bricks, completely cleaning the old material from the brickwork, carrying out a full grind-out and then repointing the walls using a suitable lime mortar mix.

It was a big job, but the difference speaks for itself! 👌
