Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Limited are a major contractor for the construction of building and civil engineering projects within Cumbria and beyond. Our clients range from small, individual organisations through to large multi-national companies, local authorities, and housing associations.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious materials buyer to join our purchasing team. Ideally you will have a trades background and/or have experience in a construction related industry. A formal construction qualification is desirable but not essential. The buyer is responsible for quantifying and scheduling materials to be used on our construction sites based on tender allowances. Materials must be procured to meet the construction programme and quality requirements at the most economical rate. In addition, the buyer must liaise with other staff including site mangers, contract mangers and quantity surveyors. The role also includes raising queries with architects and clients, using our electronic document management system to ensure we correctly interpret the requirements of the specification. On occasion, involvement is required in value engineering exercises to maximise profitability of a project.

Thomas Armstrong (Holdings) Ltd have a position available for a domestic assistant to work in our Head Office at Flimby, Maryport, CA15 8RY.‍

Working hours are:
Monday to Thursday: 5:00pm – 7:30pm
Friday: 4:00pm – 6:30pm‍

The successful applicant will be responsible for helping to keep the premises clean and safe by ensuring high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.‍

Main duties include sweeping, mopping and vacuuming carpeted areas, dusting surfaces and emptying the bins. You will also need to wipe down and clean work areas, skirting boards, window ledges and toilet facilities.‍

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, diligent and have previous knowledge and experience with handling cleaning products and materials.
