𝗔𝗪 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗹 – 𝗙𝗠 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀

Our team recently completed the design and construction of a temporary canopy walkway linking an existing building to newly installed PKL kitchen units.

The fully enclosed structure provides safe, weather-protected access for staff, contractors, and daily deliveries, while ensuring operations could continue without disruption.

Completed in just two weeks, the project included:
• Timber-framed canopy construction
• Twin-wall polycarbonate weather protection
• Ramped and stepped access
• Handrails throughout
• GRP anti-slip flooring for enhanced safety

A straightforward but important project that delivered improved safety, accessibility, and operational continuity for the client.

𝗔𝗪 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 – 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗰𝗮 𝟮 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸𝘀

With all the works being undertaken at Folca 2 we decided to offer our operatives and contractors onsite some free health checks so they could see how healthy and fit they are.

We had a great take up and a lot of our operatives were pleasantly surprised how healthy they are, with many taking away the positives from the findings on the morning.

With the amount of physical works being undertaken on site it is important that we make sure people are well and fit for work both mentally and physically.

𝗙𝗢𝗟𝗖𝗔 𝟮 - 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝟯 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲

Great progress continues at FOLCA 2 in Folkestone, where AW Construction is delivering the strip-out and enabling works at the former Debenhams store on Sandgate Road on behalf of Folkestone & Hythe District Council.

Key milestones achieved include:

✔️ Basement strip-out now fully complete
✔️ Full scaffold installed to the rear at Albion Mews
✔️ Roofing upgrades progressing well
✔️ Ongoing safe removal of HVAC and plant equipment
✔️ Continued focus on recycling, reuse, and sustainability

Our teams, contractors, and supply chain partners continue to work collaboratively to maintain progress, uphold the highest safety standards, and minimise disruption to neighbouring businesses and the local community.

We’re also proud that recovered materials from site are already being diverted for reuse through local charities and community organisations, supporting both sustainability and the local area.

A huge thank you to everyone involved for their professionalism, dedication, and continued support as this major regeneration project moves forward.

Progress continues at the former Debenhams site in Folkestone as we move into week three of the FOLCA 2 project. Strip-out works are advancing smoothly from roof down to the basement, with strong teamwork across all trades keeping everything on track.

We’re proud to be supporting the local community by upcycling materials to charities, while also working closely with neighbouring businesses to minimise disruption.
