We are delighted that the Outline Planning Application for Salisbury Street in Marnhull, North Dorset, has been granted planning permission on appeal.

The proposed development comprises of 67 no. dwellings with associated access, ground drainage and public open space. The mix of housing includes 2, 3 and 4 bedroom units from terraced, semi-detached to detached houses.

BrightSPACE Architects have worked closely with the design team to mitigate landscape, drainage, and heritage impacts and to allow for new public open spaces and extension of existing native hedgerows across the site to protect and enhance biodiversity.

We are thrilled to congratulate Philip Luke on his well-deserved promotion to Associate at BrightSPACE Architects.

Since joining BrightSPACE Architects in 2016, Philip has been a fundamental member of our team, using his experience of BIM procedures to push us to deliver projects to BIM level 2 standards. His diverse experience on projects of varying scales and complexities showcases his expertise, enthusiasm, and commitment. From securing key clients to leading large-scale projects, Philip’s leadership and support to his colleagues has been instrumental to BrightSPACE Architect’s growing success.

Philip is always consistent in his project delivery, is pro-active and coordinates the efforts and output of the wider team to ensure we maintain and exceed our high standards. His dedication, talent, and contributions to our team have been invaluable.

Last week we wished, Nichole, our much-loved colleague well wishes and held a celebration in her honour as she is having her first baby.

We had a great event filled with cupcakes, scones, and heartfelt messages from all her colleagues. There were also messages from those with children themselves warning Nichole of her soon to be ‘no sleep’ agenda… We played some games and had a thoroughly good time playing ‘guess who’ with baby pictures of all the BSA team!

So, congratulations to you, Nichole. We can’t wait to see you and the baby soon!

Here at BrightSPACE we have an amazing team of people. We think this is worth celebrating and this gives us an opportunity to reward the achievements of individuals whose contributions help the practice go from strength to strength.

This month we are delighted to announce Phil as our most FEBULOUS employee. Phil has been a fundamental member of the BrightSPACE Architects team since 2016 and has made a great impact since he started. Recently he has been securing key clients, leading large-scale projects, and delivering high quality work, all whilst supporting other members of staff and their projects in the office.

The BrightSPACE team recently had the opportunity to visit one of McCarthy Stone’s Evolve projects, which is currently underway on site. The Evolve team are involved in these projects from pre-application through planning application to completion, so it’s really exciting to see them come to life.

We are looking forward to being able to visit more sites as our other Evolve projects move into the construction phase.

Here at Brightspace we have an amazing team of people and we always enjoy the opportunity to celebrate and reward the achievements of our staff whose contributions help the practice go from strength to strength.

This month we are delighted to announce Kaelan Thomas as our most JANTASTIC member of staff. Kaelan has been working really hard since he started his placement with us in June. From the beginning he has been consistently enthusiastic and has put his best efforts into all the projects he has been involved in, making him a pleasure to work with.

We are thrilled with how well he has adapted to the work environment and very happy to be a part of his budding architectural career.

This Throwback Thursday we are looking back at The Nici Hotel, formerly known as ‘The Savoy Hotel’, which received planning permission in September 2022. The Nici has recently won a number of awards ranging from ‘Best New Hotel’ to ‘Best Interior Hotel Renovation’ and has even been featured in many destination magazines. We are proud to have been part of this project.

The BrightSPACE technical team is currently working on the next stages of the hotel’s development, focusing on the Garden Restaurant. This is due to be completed in the spring of this year, but in the meantime we are keen to see the progress on site and hope to be able to share some images soon.
