The reality of growing carrots…. A reasonable crop but loads of carrot fly damage despite not disturbing the plants and planting alongside marigolds. I don’t usually grow carrots but the National Allotment Society stand took pity on me at last years Southport Flower show as I said I can’t grow carrots. Was given a pack of ‘sympathy’ carrots and this crop is the result. Probably won’t bother next year 😂 National Allotment Society

Almost the last of the sweet peas, they’re still flowering well but the stems are getting shorter due to the hot weather...

Almost the last of the sweet peas, they’re still flowering well but the stems are getting shorter due to the hot weather and because I keep picking them - they’re desperate to produce seed. Will let them carry on for now and collect seed later in the year.
