🌿 Another busy week for the HLD team!

It’s been another busy week for the HLD team, and yesterday we were focused on a large grounds maintenance job, tackling extensive areas of grass, challenging embankments and the surrounding areas across the site. 🚜🌱

With multiple ride-on mowers and pedestrian machinery in action, the team made great progress getting the site looking its best from the large grassed slopes to the finer details around the buildings and car parks.

And it’s not just the outside work! 🌿 We also took a look inside the plant tunnel, where our plants are coming along nicely and receiving plenty of care from the team. 🌱

A huge well done to the team for another busy week great work as always! 👏🏼

🌿 A LOOK AT WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO AT HLD 🌿

It’s been another busy period for the team at Highland Landscape Design Ltd, with our teams out across the North of Scotland delivering landscaping, groundworks, planting and maintenance projects across a wide range of sites. 💪🌱

From large-scale commercial landscaping and new-build developments, to premium grounds maintenance, sports pitches and detailed planting schemes, our teams have been keeping busy turning landscapes into finished, functional spaces.

A few highlights from recent works include:

🌳 Tree planting & establishment – planting, staking and protecting trees across new developments and commercial sites.

🏡 New-build landscaping – preparing ground, turfing, seeding and completing external landscape works to create quality finished gardens and communal areas.

🌱 Ground preparation & seeding – extensive areas prepared to specification and carefully cultivated ready for grass establishment.

🌸 Planting & soft landscaping – detailed planting schemes, raised beds, borders and finishing works bringing outdoor spaces to life.

🏟️ Sports & amenity areas – maintaining and preparing high-quality grass areas for community and sporting use.

🌾 Commercial grounds & estate maintenance – keeping large-scale landscapes, pathways, planted areas and grounds looking their best throughout the seasons.

🏰 Historic & landmark sites – specialist maintenance and landscaping works at some of the region’s most recognisable locations.

And, of course, plenty of mowing, strimming, weeding, pruning and general maintenance happening behind the scenes every week! 👌🏼

A massive well done to our teams for the hard work, attention to detail and pride they continue to put into every project. 👏🏼

From groundwork to the final finish — we’re proud to deliver landscapes that last. 🌿

🌱 National Gardening Week at the Castle Gardens 🌱

Explore the Castle Gardens and enjoy a little piece of the Highlands in bloom.

The Gardens bring together an amazing mix of plants – from those you’d find in our temperate rainforests to species that thrive in harsher, mountain environments. Along the way, you’ll discover how plants have been part of everyday life for generations, used for food, fuel, medicine, dyes, perfumes and special traditions – as well as for their simple, quiet beauty.

Many of the native plants here are closely linked to Gaelic culture, with stories and knowledge passed down through oral tradition, connecting people to the land. There are stories everywhere, and if you embrace your curiosity, you’ll find history all around you as you explore the Gardens.

Even the paths have a story to tell. The Caithness flagstone underfoot comes from the north coast of the Highlands – a strong, beautiful stone that’s travelled far and wide, paving paths and streets across the world.

Take a stroll, slow down, and enjoy the Castle Gardens this National Gardening Week 🌿
