Large Ash tree with signs of Ash dieback and Armillaria (Honey Fungus) fungi 🍄 presenting an unacceptable risk to railway line in close proximity.

Tree felled to a safe height leaving standing deadwood which will create valuable habitat within the woodland for years to come.

What lies beneath 🍄‍🟫

This Sycamore tree was condemned with extensive Kretzschmaria deusta colonisation around the base. Although it looks healthy, fungi was causing the root system to slowly rot away.

☠️ High risk of brittle failure due to advanced decay of buttress roots and lower stem.
🏫 Tree within falling distance of a neighbouring garage and school playing field.
🌳 Tree climbing presented an unacceptable safety risk so a MEWP was required to safely remove.
❌ Stump ground to reduce persistence of infection

We use natural target pruning techniques to maintain the tree’s shape and allow it to regrow in a healthy, natural way

By keeping a natural shape and letting more light into your garden, this could be a better alternative to a full removal or pollard.

Where possible, we use hand saws or battery-powered tools to minimise emissions and give a cleaner cut, helping the tree heal quicker and reduce the chance of infection 🍄
