You’ve got to admire some businesses… 25 years in the military, funding schemes, grants, “veteran-owned” badges everywhere you look. Fair play 👏

Meanwhile over here, we took the slightly less glamorous route:

🌳 Let’s talk about standards in this industry.

Because the truth is, the bar for “tree work” in the UK is being dragged down by people who confuse having a chainsaw ticket with being a professional arborist.

At our company, we work strictly to BS 3998:2010 and follow Arboricultural Association best practice guidance on every job. Not sometimes. Not when it’s convenient. Always.

That means every decision we make is based on:
🌿 Tree biology
🌿 Long-term structural integrity
🌿 Decay and wound response
🌿 Evidence-based arboriculture — not guesswork or shortcuts

We’ve spent years studying how trees actually function and respond to pruning. Not just how to remove branches quickly, but understanding whether they should be removed at all — and what the long-term consequences will be.

Because here’s the uncomfortable truth:

👉 A chainsaw qualification alone does not make someone an arborist
👉 A rope and harness do not equal technical competence
👉 And calling yourself a “tree surgeon” doesn’t make the work correct

Real arboriculture is a skilled profession grounded in biology, training, and accountability. Not appearance. Not speed. Not “that’s how we’ve always done it.”

Too much poor practice in this industry gets normalised because people don’t know what good practice actually looks like.

We do.

And we’re not interested in lowering standards to match it.
