Microcement takes it. Sealed with varnish, it resists stains, water and wear. With no joints, from floor to wall to worktop, it stays seamless and far easier to clean.

One rule only: always use a trivet for pans straight off the hob.

Seamless, from floor to wall to worktop. Applied over what was already there, no demolition. Just 2 to 3mm thick. Waterproof in the shower area and simple to clean, because there are no corners for dirt to cling to.

Cleaning microcement is easy. So is ruining it.

A damp cloth, warm water and a pH-neutral soap are all you need day to day. The danger is in the wrong products: bleach, acetone, steel wool and pressure washers cause irreversible damage to the protective sealer.

And if it gets scratched? The repair is localised, without redoing the whole surface.
