New SUPs (Single Use Plastics) legislation to come into force in England on 6th April 2020 after a draft was submitted last week. This sees items such as plastic straws, cotton buds or a coffee stirrer banned from use. Other items also to be banned include polystyrene food and drink containers, plastic cutlery and even sticks for balloons! These items are expected to be banned by 3rd July 2021.
