🧤🌍 TEAM THI GIVING BACK

We don't just work across the North East – we're part of it. 💙

As proud accredited members of Shine North East, Becky Willis and Danielle Amin recently swapped the office for litter pickers and joined fellow North East businesses for a community volunteering day on Newcastle Quayside.

A few hours, plenty of teamwork and a chance to help keep one of our region's most iconic locations looking its best. 🙌

We're proud to support initiatives that bring local businesses and their people together to make a positive difference.

A big thank you to Shine North East and Newcastle NE1 for organising the day – and to Becky and Danielle for getting stuck in! 👏

Because being a local business isn't only about what you build – it's about the community you help to build around you.

🏆 THI RECOGNITION AWARD – MICK VALENTE

Better known around THI as “Pick Up Mick”! 🚛

Mick spends his days travelling across the North East, delivering and collecting the materials and equipment our teams need to keep our projects moving.

One day it might be a mini digger, the next a brand-new SupaLite roof – whatever needs to be where, Mick makes sure it gets there.

Always with a smile, always willing to help and, as far as Mick is concerned, nothing is ever a problem. 👏

And his talents don't stop there...

Mick was also kind enough to host our annual staff summer get-together this year, where he proved himself to be an excellent host, and an impressive curry chef! 🍛😂

A thoroughly deserved THI Recognition Award for someone who is always willing to go that extra mile.

Thanks for everything you do, Mick! 💙

Another proud year for our apprenticeship programme!

👏 Becky Willis – Level 7 & Chartered status
🧱 Kane Adams – Level 2 Bricklaying
🧱 Jake Davis – Level 2 Bricklaying
🔨 James Usher – Level 2 Joinery

Since launching our programme in 2022, we've supported apprentices across bricklaying, joinery, digital marketing, business administration, and HR, creating opportunities and developing skills throughout our business.

And along the way, we were incredibly proud to be named Tyne & Wear SME Employer of the Year at the 2024 North East Apprenticeship Awards. 🏆

For an SME, we're incredibly proud of what we've achieved, and even prouder of the people who've achieved it. 💙

We’re delighted to share that Jake Davis has successfully completed his Level 2 Bricklaying Apprenticeship 👏🧱

A brilliant achievement and thoroughly deserved after all the hard work Jake has put in throughout his apprenticeship 💪

A special thank you also goes to Jake’s dad, Rob Davis, who has supported and guided him throughout his apprenticeship as his mentor 👏

It’s fantastic to see another of our apprentices complete their qualification and continue developing their skills with THI 🏡
