Ongoing project - Newcastle upon Tyne: Rear single storey extension with sun lantern. This is a popular way to flood your home with natural light. A sun lantern gives a 'vaulted' feel adding height and luxury to the room, and are very popular with homes where large side windows might compromise privacy. *more photos to follow upon completion*.

Project Update: Darras Hall Property Remodel

We are in the early stages of our latest remodelling project in Darras Hall and are looking forward to the renovation journey through to completion later this year.

Updates will be shared throughout the build as the transformation progresses.

AKM Project Update: Darras Hall

This has been a truly ambitious and exciting project for AKM, spanning the past year.

We began works in late November 2024, with the clients placing full trust in us by handing over possession of their property and moving out for the duration of the build. They were able to return to their newly refurbished and remodelled home, with only second-fix and snagging works scheduled for completion in early 2026.

Very little of the original property remains, aside from a few existing walls. This project involved a substantial renovation alongside multiple new extensions, delivering a complete transformation in line with the detailed drawings and guidance provided by Paul Ely of Ely Architects Ltd throughout both the design and build stages.

The journey has been a positive and collaborative one, with strong on-site management from Paul and myself. Together, we worked closely with the clients on all key decisions, problem-solving, and design development as the project evolved.

Having the opportunity to deliver a project of this scale and complexity has been both inspirational and a proud milestone for our business.
