âWhen Charles first came to look at what was involved in replacing our kitchen we were immediately impressed: he struck us as someone we could get along with and trust, and who would do the job well and within the timescale we needed. So it proved.
He helped us to finalise the design with Howdens and order the materials from them. His quote for labour was per day rather than hourly: he gave us a schedule of what needed to be done each day, and then stuck to it. It is impossible to imagine anyone achieving more in a day than he did.
When we were away for three nights he sent us pictures and updates on his progress. He was personable, cheerful and good company throughout. He proved to be an excellent project manager: he organised his chosen electrician, plumber and plasterer to fit into the overall plan, and the whole crew had the same easy-going and companiable manner. Everyone turned up on time, and the job was completed as planned, to a very high standard: Charles works precisely, knowledgeably and skilfully, and he did not rest until he (and we) were happy with his and the teamâs work.
The materials were paid for in advance, but Charles did not ask for any money up front for his labour. His eventual invoice was properly itemised and exactly what we had been led to expect. The result is spectacularly smart, just as designed. The upheaval of having one kitchen removed and a new one installed was as pleasant an experience as it could possibly be.â
