So after nearly 9 months we finally say goodbye to Commissioners House at the Chatham Historic Dockyard by completing these lower lead roofs on the North and South ends of the building, along with a small pitched area of slating. This entire project has been an absolute joy to work on and has given our team the chance to really show what they can do. Many thanks to all involved - it's been a privilege and a pleasure.

Some close ups of these superb sand cast lead roof vents and terminals produced with thanks by our close friends at Architectural Lead and Metalwork (London) Ltd. Various sizes all made to measure. Paul of ALML is one of the best at his craft and has got involved in replacing and refurbishing the lead rainwater pipes and hoppers at Commissioners House for us as well.

So how do you go from this existing lead roof to something that improves on the original? Quite simply you redesign and rebuild it to bring it up to modern recommendations and better detailing whilst retaining it's historic qualities.
