Ongoing job in Cambuslang.

No tools required to remove the stone on this gable 🫣

The peak of this gable end unfortunately, had cementitious repairs applied to the stonework.
Which as you can see, was doing nothing other than hide an unstable and deteriorating exterior wall.

New stone dressed and built ✅

Existing cement pointing removed and replaced with a breathable lime mortar, to preserve the new and existing sandstone ✅

Chimney repointed and wrapped up for the weekend🌧️🌧️
Gable stonework cleaned down of dust and ready for lime pointing next week✅

The result of years of water ingress🫣. The stonework below the chimney on this gable, was no more than solidified sand.
As you can see, areas had already started to fail to the extent of falling out from the wall.

New sandstone dressed on site and built to secure the masonry below the chimney stack ✅

Cement pointing removed and the stonework is now ready for a final repoint to consolidate and seal from any further water ingress, using a well graded sand and lime mortar mix ✅
