It’s always great to receive feedback like this from our customers.

This project involved a full rewire of a ground floor tenement flat with outdated wiring and an old fuse board.

The team completed the work in just 2 days, installing a new consumer unit, Hive thermostat and additional socket.

Buying a new home? Or unsure if your electrics are safe?

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is essentially an MOT for your homes electrical installation.

Just like an MOT checks that your car is safe to be on the road, an EICR checks that your electrics are safe to remain in service.

Time and time again we’re brought in to inspect properties that look great on the surface, only to uncover underlying electrical issues.

More often than not, a full rewire is required.

If you’re buying a property or simply haven’t had your electrics checked in years, an EICR could save you from some very costly surprises.

“Where do you carry out rewires?”

The short answer… anywhere.

If a property’s electrics are outdated, unsafe, non compliant or have failed an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR), we’ll happily provide a quotation for a full rewire.

Over the years we’ve completed rewires throughout Scotland and England.

From the very top of Scotland to the very top of England, and even on some of Scotland’s remote islands.

We’ve worked in modern flats, traditional tenements, detached homes, townhouses, commercial properties, high rise blocks and everything in between.

Distance has never been the deciding factor for us.

The condition of the electrical installation is.

Buying a home? Don’t judge the electrics by how nice the place looks 👀

Time and time again, we see new homeowners getting caught out.

A home report might categorise the electrics as a 2 and advise having them checked by a NICEIC registered contractor.

Occasionally, they’re even marked as a 1, meaning no immediate attention or repair is needed.

But here’s the problem…

That doesn’t always mean the electrics are modern, safe or suitable for todays use.

This property had undergone a full renovation:

New boiler ✅
New kitchen ✅
New bathroom ✅
New flooring ✅
Fresh paint ✅
Fresh plastering ✅

To the eye, it looked great.

But the electrics had been completely overlooked.

Fancy light fittings, downlights, new accessories and appliances…

Behind the nice finishes, the wiring was antiquated and badly needing attention.

Now we’re in pulling the place apart to carry out a full rewire before the homeowner can even move in, costing thousands and thousands of pounds.

Our advice?

Before buying, renovating or moving in, have the electrics properly checked by a qualified contractor.

It could save you a serious headache and a serious bill.

Rewireable fuses, wooden enclosure and absolutely zero modern protection.

It’s got more character than most new builds…

But unfortunately, “character” doesn’t trip off when there’s a fault…

These old fuse boxes were normal decades ago, but homes have changed massively; more appliances, more demand and much higher expectations for safety.

If your fuse box looks like it belongs beside a gramophone and a ration book, it might be time to get your electrics checked.

Old doesn’t always mean dangerous…

But this old? Definitely worth investigating ⚡️
