Roofing Advisors are delighted to share our recent project completion at Swan Street, Glasgow.

The building was an original 3-storey vacant office building, transformed into a 5-storey Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) delivering 105 high-quality studio apartments and associated amenities.

We delivered the Green Roof installation using the Bauder Flat Roofs Total Green Roof System, finished with an eco-friendly sedum blanket and wildflower seed mix, contributing to the project's sustainability credentials.

Despite the challenges of working in a prime city centre location and to a tight programme deadline ahead of the new academic year, we're delighted with how this project has turned out.

Roofing Advisors are delighted to share the completion of our recent project at Kittybrewster Custody Centre, Aberdeen.

This roof was a 1,000m² roof replacement on a live operational sixty-cell custody centre, which required security vetting for all operatives and a carefully phased programme tailored to the building's needs throughout.

We delivered the roof replacement using the Bauder Flat Roofs Total Green Roof System, incorporating 500m² of sedum green roof and 500m² of pebble ballast.

Alongside the roofing works, the scope included sixty new rooflights, new metal doors, M&E works, lightning protection and a new permanent counterweighted guardrail system, which was installed by our own Height Services division.

A complex project on a sensitive site and a job that the whole of Roofing Advisors is really proud of.

Last month, our Height Services Division handed over our latest project at our national football stadium, Barclays Hampden.

Hear from our Height Services manager, Lee Ryan as he chats about our design, supply and installation of a new fall protection system to replace an existing system.

We installed 800 meters of horizontal lifelines across 29 individual systems manufactured by Bettersafe International.

Our team held a full handover session with the Hampden Park maintenance team, walking them through how to safely use the new system for routine PPM works, and issuing them with harnesses by Aresta Safety.

Roofing Advisors are currently on site at Lenzie Academy in East Dunbartonshire.

The scaffold was erected during the school term to allow works to begin as soon as the school broke for the summer holidays. Our team coordinated closely with the head teacher, janitorial and maintenance staff to ensure minimal disruption to the school day during the scaffold er****on.

Our works include a full strip and replacement of the existing tiled roof covering, installation of a new Bauder Single Ply Roofing System, new flashings, fascia and soffit redecoration.

This project was procured through the SPA (Scottish Procurement Alliance) RS5 Roofing & Associated Works Framework. If you’re a public sector organisation, it’s a straightforward route to access our services without a separate tender process.

The team have been on their best behaviour - just in case the head teacher is watching 👀

Our Consultation Lead, Paul Marley, has been busy conducting Electronic Leak Detection tests across several roofs around Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Electronic Leak Detection is one of the most effective ways to identify even the smallest defects in a roof's waterproofing and we use it in a few different ways.

Some tests are carried out post-install, before handover, to make sure a roofing contractor has left a watertight roof.

Others form part of a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) package for clients with a problematic roof, or one at risk of leaking in the future.

Catching a leak before it becomes a costly problem is always the goal, and Electronic Leak Detection is a key part of how we help our clients achieve that.

At Roofing Advisors, we are experienced in delivering heritage works across the central belt of Scotland, and Wilton Street is a standout example from last year.

In partnership with Glasgow City Heritage Trust, on behalf of KSNPM, we carried out a full re-roof, chimney repairs and rainwater goods replacement on this traditional Glasgow tenement. This project covered 220m² of slate, including bespoke leadwork and a custom Cupola Rooflight, all specified to match the building's original character.

As part of the project, we also hosted a CPD demo day on site, led by our own Antony McDermott, giving industry professionals a hands-on look at traditional slate fixing and leadwork. These craft skills are essential to heritage restoration but increasingly hard to find.
