Mugwort.
So far I haven't made smudge sticks this year, for a few reasons.
Smudge sticks are a lovely meditative practice but, by goddess, they are so damn time consuming and they require A LOT of leaf.
The plants have suffered a little bit of stress due to the recent sustained high temperatures and lack of water - watering from the hose just doesn't cut it in these conditions, they need the rain - and it just doesn't feel quite right to cut them, placing an additional stress. We will see what the weather gods have got in store for Autumn...

It was rather difficult for me to translate the language of this essence into something that could be understood by us - it was a light language, that of the Angels. I do feel my interpretation is perhaps a little clumsy but I also feel it's best to speak for itself.
