Good evening good people.

Hope you are all well and have dragged your christmas trees out the attic to start the christmas celebrations!!!

To celebrate we would like to share some photos and a review from a recent job we completed in sunny Greenock.

This who know me, know I am professional who will facilitate the installation, to the best of my ability, of whatever the customer wants, however, I have never been a huge fan of wet wall. I'm a tile guy but, if the customer wants wet wall, i will happily facilitate this.
That changed on this job.
This room looks amazing.
Compared to what we there before I was stunned by the wet wall finish.
Another top job and a cracking fit by our fitter David.

Good morning good people.

Today we would like to share the cloakroom transformation of Graeme and Liz Jeffrey.
You be hard pushed to find a nicer couple to work with.
Liz wanted to turn their basic cloakroom into something elegant and i think this was a job well done.
Credit has to go in part to Graeme who painted and wallpapered the room.
This took our fitter James a bit longer than usual as he kept finding a leak around the wc installation at the start of each morning and despite replacing pipes, tightening connections, doing everything he could, the water would be there a few hours later.
James finally worked out that the leak was coming from a completely separate source, the upstairs wc, so he fixed that as well.

Good Wednesday morning folks.

Some of the more avid followers may have heard of Hannah Bolton before.

Long term customer and referrer or jobs ours way. Excellent customer to have.

Well, Hannah asked us in to do her third bathroom in 9 years.

We happily obliged and put the same fitter, David, on the job as he did the bathroom in her last property.

Whilst out designing the bathroom I dropped of a referral voucher for Hannah as it was herself who recommended Eilidh Noble to us a short while back who's bathroom we completed a few weeks ago.
£50 Amazon voucher simply for telling a friend about us. Not bad.

Anyway, this time Hannah had an awkward shaped bathroom that she wanted to have a make over and we were happy to help.

Yes you read that right.

We are offering a £50 Voucher for Amazon or M&S simply for referring someone to Bathtopia for their next bathroom project, as long as they buy and have the works carried out.

Good morning good people.

Happy frosty Tuesday to you all.

Just wanted to share a recent job that was completed by our fitting team led by David.

Ben Wright and his good lady Andrea.

Not the kind of job we would normally do as it was a partial install and these can sometimes grow arms and legs which nobody likes. However, all seemed ok so we took the job on and i'm pleased to say, it turned of brilliantly and Andrea has already recommended us to another customer who's bathroom project we start in Dec. (so a voucher on its way to Andrea soon, but more on that later)

Morning all.

Hope you all had a good weekend and a good start to October!

sharing a review and photos from a recent install.

This customer was referred to us by Hannah Bolton who has recommended us to several folk over the years and who's bathroom we are currently working on but more on that later.

This is Eilidh Nobles new bathroom.

it was a dated shower room before with excessive, unrequired, dated storage,
There was a shower enclosure as soon as you walked in which made a large room feel smaller.
The tiles were dated with a dado rail and creamy/pergamon finish to them.

The room need brought into the 21st century.

Enter Bathtopia!

We redid the layout to allow for a full length bath along the back wall, with shower over it to maximise the space when you enter the room. We also added some niched around the bath area for storing shampoo bottles or whatever the customer wants.
Repositioned the wc and basin (something B&! will not do!) and add storage with the vanity unit.
To finish it off the room is has olive units and brushed brass fittings, Stunning!

Morning all.

Had an interesting interaction with a member of the public and just wanted to share a quick bathroom lesson for everyone.

Customer wanted me to quote for a fit only installation.

Not what we normally do but she had been let down by a previous fitter and I felt for her.

On the day of the appointment she contacted me to say she had a quote that morning that she was happy with and was going to go with it, no problem. Out of curiosity I asked what the quote came in at. She informed me it was £2500.

£2500 for a full bathroom installation. Very cheap in my professional opinion but being a professional, I said nothing but, no problem. Good luck, Best regards.

Fast forward a week or so and I got a message from this person saying that the fitter has been in touch to say they couldn't start on the arranged install date. Customer was obviously put out by this and asked me if I could quote for the work instead.

I said, of course but pointed out it would be more than £2500 and gave a rough idea of the cost.

Customer, very nicely, came back and said they couldn't afford that so would need to shop around. No problem, but here's the thing, if you pay pennies, you get what you pay for.

It is not possible to correctly fit a full bathroom for £2500!

If you have £1000 to buy a car, buy a second hand car, but do not be surprised when it breaks down within a year,

If you want a quality car, with bells and whistles, and a good warranty and someone who knows what they are talking, you pay for it.

B&Q wont fit a "fit only bathroom" but if you buy a bathroom from them, they charge £8-9k for the fitting + tiles, suite, etc.

Bathroom install prices broken down can be as follows.....ball park £4k
tax £667
Rubbish removal £200
Joiner £400
£900 Plumbers (4 days, approx £25 per hour very well priced!)
£200 Electrician inc RCD
£875 Tiler, average 25sqm wall and floor. £35 per sqm, standard price. some charge £40-50 per sqm.
Apprentice £300
Material £700.
Knowledge, professionalism, reliability, priceless.
Total £4242, (PLUS A SUITE AND TILES FOR SUPPLY AND FIT)
less than that and you get guys cutting corners, not sealing shower screens, not installing stud frames around the bath, tiling on top of tiles of any one of the dozens of ways to cut a corner in a bathroom install and unfortunately, you wont know they have cut that corner until they are long gone with you money and water is leaking through your ceiling

Full bathroom refits cost around £6-8k with products and tiles included.
