Delighted to have planning approved for a new home, studio, and workshop spaces within a former steading complex in rural Perthshire. A new pavilion structure formed with deep stone columns and a biodiverse roof, is positioned among the ruined walls of former cattle barns. A green larch, post and beam framed addition to an existing farm cottage near the Pentland Hills. Exploring the presence of the expressed frame, detached from or engaged with infill surfaces, reading as columns or pilasters. Deep beams and timber to timber joints. Colour palette drawn from the red sandstone of the vernacular cottage, reflected in pigmented lime render, stained plywood, and local stone aggregate within the burnished concrete floor.
