At Mackenzie Construction, we are committed to supporting our employees and their families, and the causes that matter to them.

We are pleased to support our Management Accountant, Gary Steel and his sister, Katie, as she prepares to run the Glasgow Women’s 10K on the 12th July.

Katie is taking part in memory of two close friends who passed away from secondary breast cancer in their early 30s. Following their loss, she worked with the charity Make 2nds Count, which provides vital support to individuals and families affected by this condition.

In recognition of her efforts, Mackenzie Construction has made a £500 donation to support Katie’s fundraising and the ongoing work of the charity.

If you would like to support Katie’s efforts, please visit:

We wish Katie every success in the event.

Mackenzie Construction is proud to renew its sponsorship of Washington FC Panthers for a third consecutive season

After an incredible year that saw the team go unbeaten in the league and retain the Middlesbrough FC Cup, we’re delighted to continue supporting the Panthers.

Our partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to investing in young people and the communities where we live and work. We’re especially proud of our connection to the team through our Newcastle team, and to see the players continue to develop both on and off the pitch.

We wish the Panthers the very best for the season ahead!

On Saturday 6th June 2026, a team of eight Mackenzie Construction employees took part in the WaterAid UK Munro Challenge, climbing Schiehallion.

Schiehallion (1,083 m), one of Scotland’s most iconic Munros, is known for its distinctive shape and far-reaching views across the Highlands. The team took on this challenge to raise awareness and vital funds for WaterAid, supporting access to clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene for communities where these are needed most.

A huge well done to Thomas McGuigan, Mark Wilson, Nick Arens, Claudia Matos, Craig Waton, Chris Duffy, Richie Bennett and Matthew Leonard, who completed the climb.

Reflecting on the day, Thomas McGuigan said:
“Our charity Munro challenge to hike Schiehallion in support of WaterAid was a huge success. Although the views disappeared into cloud and mist during the final stage of the climb, the team’s determination, resilience, and good spirits never wavered as we pushed on to reach the summit.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported and donated to this challenge. The funds raised will help WaterAid continue its vital work, providing clean water, decent toilets, and good hygiene to communities that need it most around the world.”

All money raised through the Munro Challenge 2026 will support WaterAid’s essential work, donate today at: https://www.justgiving.com/page/mackenzie-construction-munro2026?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL

We recently hosted a Lunch & Learn at our Prism House office, where we enjoyed sharing some food together alongside valuable industry insights.

We were pleased to welcome Think Hire Ltd Sales Director, Paul Willis and Energy Consultant, Darren Anderson. They delivered an informative session showcasing the latest renewable solutions and hybrid technologies designed to optimise modern construction site setups.

These innovative approaches provide practical opportunities for Mackenzie Construction and our clients to significantly reduce fuel consumption, achieve meaningful carbon savings, and support progress towards our Net Zero ambitions.

The session was very well received, with strong engagement across the team and plenty of positive discussion throughout.

We look forward to applying these insights in practice and are excited to progress our first fully optimised, carbon-efficient site setup in the near future.

Mackenzie Construction continues to strengthen its delivery footprint across England, supporting major water frameworks with structural refurbishment expertise.

This video shows a recent Treated Water Storage refurbishment project delivered for Severn Trent in the South West.

The works involved the refurbishment of a 3,300m² treated water reservoir roof, with a full replacement of the waterproofing system delivered to meet Drinking Water Inspectorate standards.

Works were carried out in controlled sections, using bespoke encapsulation measures to manage weather risk and maintain quality throughout. The result is a fully reinstated asset with improved long-term performance.

Mackenzie Construction was pleased to be in attendance on Friday evening as a proud sponsor of Glasgow Warriors, as they secured a quarter-final victory over Connacht to progress to the BKT URC semi-final.

The result sets up a home semi-final at Scottish Gas Murrayfield on Saturday 6 June, marking an important milestone in the club’s season.

We were delighted to welcome members of the team who earlier this year took part in Doddie’s Triple Crown cycle challenge alongside our Construction Director, Mark Wilson. It was a privilege to recognise their efforts in support of My Name'5 Doddie Foundation and to bring the group together once again.

We congratulate Glasgow Warriors on an excellent performance and look forward to supporting the team as they prepare for the semi-final.

Congratulations to Irvine Meadow XI FC on clinching the WoSFL First Division title!

As proud Community Sponsor of Irvine Meadow FC, everyone at Mackenzie Construction is delighted to see the club crowned Champions at the end of a fantastic season.

Last week, Contracts Manager, Darren Hendry attended the Highland Renewables Network ‘Pipelines and Places’ Exhibition and Supply Chain Session at the Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness.

As a business with a regional hub in the North of Scotland, this was a valuable opportunity for Mackenzie Construction to gain further insight into the future procurement routes for renewable projects across the region, while connecting with developers, contractors and fellow local businesses involved in the sector.

With major investment continuing across the Highlands, events like this are important in helping regional businesses better understand where opportunities are emerging and how local companies can play a meaningful role in supporting delivery.

Thank you to Highland CIC for organising such an informative and well-attended event.
