Designed around the view.

This LH702PD overlooks Gairloch Bay, so we incorporated corner glazing into the living area to create seamless, uninterrupted views across one of Scotland's most glorious coastal landscapes.

The bliss of a cold, wet Highland summer, and as beautiful as ever.

Finding the right plot is one of the biggest steps in building a new home. It’s not just about the location, views and price — there’s a lot more to consider.

Does the site have planning permission? Are services available? What about access, ground conditions and drainage?

Our guide covers the key things to look out for when buying a plot, including potential pitfalls and opportunities.

Simple form, sharp finishes and careful detailing.

A generous larch deck sits in front of a wall of glass, accessed directly from both the ground floor bedroom and the open-plan living area.

The HebHomes architects carefully detailed the deck to sit level with the internal floor finish, creating the impression that the interior extends out into the landscape.

It's been a very wet summer in the Highlands, so these photographs taken earlier this year give us a nostalgic reminder of the sun.

The WH602, designed for modern family life with a rural character.

A 4–5 bedroom croft house based on our popular WH502 model, the WH602 retains the double-height sitting room while extending the layout to provide additional en-suite bedrooms.

The open-plan kitchen, dining and living area forms the heart of the home, complemented by a separate sitting room and a versatile ground-floor room that could serve as a home office, studio, or additional accommodation.

With its narrow plan and carefully considered proportions, this design is well suited to rural settings and traditional planning requirements.

When the sun shines on the northwest coast of Scotland, there are few better places to spend your time.

This LH102PD in the crofting township of Melvaig is called Feur Mara (Gaelic for sea grass). Close by are the white beaches of Big Sands, the village of Gairloch, and across the water, the hills of Harris.

When Mandy and Colin decided to build a house for their retirement in Colintraive they had some particular requirements. One that was generous enough to welcome their family to stay in a place to allow them to focus on their passions; Mandy's ceramics, Colin's desire to be by the water, and their joint love of gardening.

This WH602 sits easily within the grounds of an old steading where the natural pond has become a haven for frogs and newts, and the garden is place of toil and pleasure. A place they have truly made their own.
