Approaching that time of year again 🥶🥶

Snow leaks
Water leaking through your roof can cause you major problems. Snow melting can infiltrate your roof covering, resulting in leaks occurring at lead flashings, chimneys, valleys, skews and window flashings.
Ice Dams
Ice dams occur as a result of ice accumulating on your roof covering or beneath the roof itself. Water cannot run off the roof, due to the roof tile channels or between the slates being blocked.
Drainage
Gutters should be cleaned for free travel of water as blocked guttering can restrict water dispersal, resulting in overflow and strain being placed upon the gutters.
Frozen gutters can also harbour moisture, causing frozen water to expand and damage gutters and seals.
Condensation
When warm air meets a cold surface, condensation is likely to occur. Proper insulation should be applied and maintained at all times to minimise the risk.
Ventilation
Proper ventilation must be made available to your roof in order for warm air to rise and minimise condensation, reducing the growth of mould, mildew and dampness.
