A huge congratulations to our very own Michael Dearing who not only represented Great Britain in the recent Ball Hockey World Championship, but also came away with a bronze medal...and was named as one of the top two defensemen in the entire tournament!

A huge thank you to the Lowland Reserve Forces' & Cadets' Association for the invitation to their networking session in Edinburgh.

It was a valuable opportunity to bring together , like-minded organisations, and , and to hear first-hand about some of the challenges this often-forgotten group face when accessing training and employment after leaving the service.

It was also an opportunity to speak with other like-minded organisations, sharing learning, identifying opportunities to collaborate and understanding how we can refine our policies and practises for the better.

And, of course, it was a real privilege to then experience the Edinburgh Tattoo ...seeing it together felt all the more significant after the conversations and connections made earlier in the day.

On Friday we held our annual staff BBQ, a chance to catch up with colleagues, celebrate their hard work to date and raise some funds for our chosen charities. This year we are supporting Geeza Break, Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity, and Beatson Cancer Charity - all wonderful, local charities who make a real difference to the communities they serve.

Owing to very generous donations from a number of clients and suppliers, we were able to raise £835 - a fantastic amount! A big thanks too to all staff members who bought raffle tickets and of course, congrats to our winners!

In partnership with Coastworks, we’re proud to have helped BAE Systems to deliver another milestone in the Type 26 programme.

Coming together with key Clyde based companies, the team managed the transportation of the Mission Bay doors for Type 26 frigates in build, underlining the expertise and experience on the Clyde.

Some of the Malin Abram and Malin Marine Services team recently took part in our Welding for Non Welders course, which provided an overview of how to read drawings and technical documentation, as well as providing an understanding of key welding processes, terminology and standards - plus some hands on time in the workshop.

The team all thoroughly enjoyed the course and noted that it provided a lot of information on the different types of welding (practical), NDT and theory. Designed for a variety of roles within the sector, the 4 day overview aims to strengthen your knowledge, understanding and ability to collaborate with your design and build colleagues. Indeed, as one participant put it, 'absolutely brilliant course and instructors. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for an introduction into the world of welding.'

Exciting news at John Tracey Specialist Welding with the launch of a new Welding for Non Welders course!

The intensive 4-day course is designed to give you a solid foundation through a mix of classroom learning and hands on workshop time.

Whether as an Engineer, Naval Architect, Designer, Project Manager, Purchasing, Business Development...and beyond...It will strengthen your knowledge, understanding and ability to collaborate with your design and build colleagues.

During the 4 day course you will:
• Learn how to read drawings and technical documentation
• Understand key welding processes, terminology and standards
• Gain real, practical welding experience from our expert team
